Title: Highway of Diamonds - Chapter 3
Author:
alphaflyer
Rating: M
Characters/Pairings: Clint/Natasha
Disclaimer: All I own of Marvel is a (growing) handful of comics.
Warnings: Disturbing themes, including sexual exploitation; dubious consent (arguably rape); some language (usually Clint...). See text below for additional information.
Author's Note: Later than I hoped; sooner than I expected. Thanks to
shenshen77 for the test drive; I probably introduced some new bobbles after you looked at it.
Summary: Already Natasha and Clint have spent more time at the compound of the "Temple of the Loving Church of Galactic Peace" than previous SHIELD agents sent there to investigate. Can it last?
ETA: It has been brought to my attention that a specific scene in Chapter 3 is more than disturbing to some readers -- that it is triggering. I had hoped that my own attitude to the subject matter (with which I have a hard time) meant that what I wrote was not too strong; apparently I was wrong. Accordingly, I have adjusted the warnings in all postings and upped the rating. I hope that the intent of the story, which in the context of a SHIELD mission exposes the nature of betrayal by those in positions of power, will be not be lost in the context of such concerns.
