ATTF: Hidden Gems

Hi all! This weeks All The Things Friday theme is Hidden Gems.

Those new shiny diamonds that have only just been uncovered. The lost or misplaced jewels, the ones discovered in the attic or at a car boot sale. The precious stones that may have been overlooked when in a treasure room full of precious things.

Rec us fics and vids and graphics and ALL THE THINGS that you feel are new and haven't received much attention, that are difficult to find, that were buried within events, fests, big bangs, or onslaughts of other great things and so perhaps have been discovered by less people than they ought to have been. Bring us the things that we haven't seen, that few of us have seen, that you really think we should see! BRING US THE SHINY.

Things to remember:
1) Always label NSFW (Not Safe For Work) stuff in the title and post under a cut.
2) Fic and artwork needs to have a rating and warnings (or you can say that you’ve chosen not to use warnings).
3) For people with annoying internet connections, say in the title if a comment is graphic/images/gif-heavy and post picspams under a cut.
4) Have a damn good time! (Because if that’s not happening then this post has clearly failed.)

OK. So I was bored one day and went through the entirety of

avengerkink looking for interesting things and I came across Warp and Weft written for the prompt Loki gets sick of Clint's smart mouth while he's his thrall and sews it shut. The only person who Clint will let near him to unpick it is Natasha. Obviously, warnings for blood and general unpleasantness, but I adore the fill.

And then what I call #27 IKEA by nympheline on tumblr. After New York, they go to IKEA and pretend they are normal. Warning for implied abuse.

And then the UST filled stories of Karu-DarkAngel on ff.net. Warnings for violence, blood, injury and BUCKETS OF UST. Though there might be other things as well, I can't remember.

To prevent me making a mess again; 1 and 2. are about PG-13, and 3 average at 15 I reckon.

Also; there's rollingplains. Especially Acclimation (PG-13, no warnings).

ETA: and then I tried to edit it for ratings and stuff and got blocked again. FAIL. And didn't even manage to edit it properly. DOUBLE FAIL.

I unspammed it, then when you edited it the edited version was spammed. I have no idea why :S Maybe because it has links, but still. Oh livejournal *sighs and shakes head*. It should show up now.

I'm not sure if you would call this story 'hidden' -- it has a good number of faves and reviews. But it is just so ... good: Thimble's Flying Monkeys (http://www.fanfiction.net/s/8280054/1/Flying-Monkeys) -- Clint gets called out on the various plans he's been concocting during boring stakeouts, about how to get the helicarrier down. (Tag line: "The inevitable, horrifying debriefing. "Is this some kind of hobby for you? Planning our imminent destruction?") Also on AO3 where the author goes by Thimblerig (http://archiveofourown.org/works/449517)

Thanks for reccing that one. I needed to bookmark that one for a while but I forgot the name. I think it counts because it's not one of the major stories that continues to be recced all of the time. This one is hilarious.

Every time there is a rec list I always rec this story A Dog With No Name (http://www.fanfiction.net/s/8463766/1/A_Dog_With_No_Name) by Maxiekat. It's a short 1000 word story where Natasha finds Clint in the park with his new dog Arrow. It's fusion of the movies and Fraction's Hawkeye comics. It's really quiet, simple story but for whatever reason it has always charmed me.

High school AUs can be so hit-or-miss, but Ghosts That We Knew (http://archiveofourown.org/works/531381/chapters/942536) by eternalponine (Rated Teen, warnings for non-explicit, implied sexual abuse) has been pretty amazing so far. The relationship between Clint and Natasha is wonderful, and the inclusion of the other Avengers (plus others) isn't superfluous. And the feels. There are many.

Ooh, and this one: all this devotion (http://archiveofourown.org/works/810239) by dontbitethesun (rated Mature for non-explicit sexy-times). Lovely interpretation of how Clint (and the rest of the Avengers) adjusts to life after he loses his hearing.
