ATTF: Let's Show Joss Where To Go -- Scripts, Clips and Cameos
Hey there, dearest members of the Bar of Bars!  I took the day off to do some writing (!), and now that I finished cleaning up the mess the enormous, fat raccoon that lives down the lane made of our garbage last night (yes, the can WAS secured ...) I thought I’d post today’s issue a bit early.  Here’s hoping this will give our friends on other continents than the one I'm on a sporting chance to play while it’s still Friday there, too!

Right.  Topic.

We just had another great Promptathon – but I just know that your creativity hasn’t been exhausted yet.  Far from it!  So I thought we could tap into it once more.  Like this:

We’ve all been squeeing over glimpses of That Necklace in the stills from Cap2, the trailers for Thor2, and wondering what the MCU future holds for Hawkeye and Black Widow.  If you’re anything like me, you’re hoping for a cameo, a post-credit clip, or a little snippet of script that might put some wind into the sails of our 'ship.  Or you’re just a wee bit ticked off concerned that there is still no sign of the Hawkeye/Black Widow movie they should be making, instead of in addition to the ones that are in the pipeline.

So here’s your challenge:

Give us your pitch, write up your script outline, your single-scene story board, your trailer – for the cameo, the one-minute clip, the extra-feature short, or the whole Big Damn Movie you’d like to see, starring our favourite assassins and their assorted BAMFy friends.

If you’re muse is on vaca today, there are some fantastically talented artists and vidders out there who’ve already done movie posters, clips and trailers – so rec away!

Just to get you going -- a while ago, [livejournal.com profile] sunny_serenity posted this lovely piece of inspiration:

Things to remember:
1) Always label NSFW (Not Safe For Work) stuff in the title and post under a cut.
2) Fic and artwork needs to have a rating and warnings (or you can say that you’ve chosen not to use warnings).
3) For people with annoying internet connections, say in the title if a comment is graphic/images/gif-heavy and post picspams under a cut.
4) Have a damn good time! (Because if that’s not happening then this post has clearly failed.)

And … remember to have fun!!!

Just a note, I had to go through three 302 found links to get here, so there might be a problem with this page. :-/ (ETA: NVM. It's my computer. *headdesk*)

That said, I have ideas!

Snippet/ Cameo

At the end of Cap 2, Natasha getting home and Clint looking up from reading a book on the sofa.

"How was your day at work, honey?" (as an obvious joke, because he knows she's just spent a few days fixing SHIELD and dealing with the Winter Soldier.)

"Same old, same old" Natasha, body relaxing and face lighting up with a genuine smile when she sees Clint.

Then Clint says something offhand about the mission he was assigned to, which hints at an important plot point about Avengers 2 or Thor 2.

End scene.

(So pretty much alpha's snippet, now that I've gotten around to reading the other comments)

Movies!

I love Hawkeye, but summer blockbusters need another movie about an American white guy like they need a hole in the head. Needless to say, my pitch is for a Black Widow movie. Or really the ideas behind my pitch, because the pitch itself would be snappier.

The Black Widow's strength is being a spy, so it would be a spy thriller, but it would also have Marvel type elements. When the Black Widow does her job, it's not seen on television or in the newspapers, so essentially it would be a story of her fighting an extremely powerful antagonist/ group, without them realizing until too late. There would be fight scenes, and a boss battle where Natasha outsmarts the superpowered guy or girl, but at the end of the day it would be an intellectual battle.

And the reason why the other Avengers don't show up? 1) It's a sensitive situation, and having to go onto television and newspapers would be disastrous for a gazillon different reasons. 2) Superpowered baddie has plans in place for each superpowered Avenger, and underestimates normals.

At the end of the day you could introduce some interesting villains and groups from the Marvel universe, plus explore the Black Widow's backstory and MO. If you chose the villain and what plot correctly, it could help build towards whatever arc they're going for in the next Avengers movie.

YES to your movie proposal and rationale!!!! Whatever will be the moving premise for "Agents of SHIELD" being Avengers-free could doubtless be blown up and enlarged and translated back onto the big screen...

As for the similarity of our cameo dreams - great minds think alike! Let's hope Joss Whedon is of the same calibre of greatness as we are ... ;-)
