A Call To Arms/Assemble
Okay, so your friendly neighbourhood mods have been working on getting a tagging system sorted. There’s a guide to it HERE. What we’d like is if every time you post something that you’ve made or something that you’re recommending you label it by what it is (ie. ‘fic rec’, ‘icons’) but also what it contains or what it’s about (ie. ‘fanwork: funny’, ‘fanwork: budapest’).

We’re currently working on going back through everything and getting it tagged, but you’ve all been wonderfully productive so it may take some time. What would be really, really great and really, really appreciated would be if you could go back and tag the posts that you’ve made, be they recs or works. That would be fantastic! Really, really :D (If we've already gone back and tagged your post, do check that we've tagged it correct and if not feel free to change or add tags as you see fit!) And if you could tag any new posts according to the system I will love you forever.

A lot of things will probably fall under more than one category and that’s absolutely fine. Just think of yourself in a few months time looking for that pretty picture or fic that you remember loving and think about what tag you’d use to try and find it. If you think that there are other tags that we need or you’re not sure what to tag something as, tell us :)

Any questions? Fire away!

Want to earn my eternal devotion? Tag!

Thank you for your cooperation!

YAY TAGS! I think the generic 'fanwork' works a lot better, and whee for being able to find things.

:D!

and also yay, I can tag things and be useful while being stuck on a fic

On my tagging adventures I'm thinking we might need a cute/sweet tag for the artwork and fics making me go 'awww' and maybe one for getting hot under the collars as it were. Any other tagging suggestions from our tagging army?

Ideas
Hmm, a tag for domestic!fic, maybe? Curtain!fic, that's the term I was thinking of (although 'domestic' works, too). A tag for post-canon aftermath, as that seems to be a popular sub-category.

And not that we've had any so far, but maybe a tag for kid!fic?

Re: Ideas
Hmm, maybe something like 'downtime' to cover domestic as well as Natasha and Clint being as domestic as two assassins could be? And I've seen kid!fic where members of the team have been turned into kids, do you mean that or them having kids or looking after kids as well?

I don't know about post-canon aftermath. We'll be getting more films and so more canon after all :D (Right? RIGHT? MORE PLEASE!) Do you mean something like post-Avengers film recovery? We have team!shawarma for the immediate aftermath shawarma fics and a lot of the others fall under the hurt/comfort tags. You're gonna have to clarify :)

Re: Ideas
Downtime works as well! And, kid!fic in the sense I'm using it is "Clint/Natasha + kid"

I don't actually mean recovery, exactly, because that falls underneath 'hurt/comfort' (although, I think a post-Avengers tag wouldn't be a bad thing - or maybe there is an ability to tag fic as to what movie they are referring to? Iron Man, Thor, Avengers). I mean...

Okay, take the ficlet After Effects http://archiveofourown.org/works/430231 (no HTML as LJ marked my previous comment as spam (?????????) - it's Natasha's POV on how Clint is dealing (or not dealing) with the fall-out from Avengers. It's not recovery as he doesn't get better in the ficlet, nor is it hurt-comfort. It's 'angst' as the closest, but it's also dealing with post-Avengers specifically. Which is a major, major trope in the fandom, and something that people would look for specifically.

Is that clearer?

Re: Ideas
Sorry, I don't know why LJ was labelling your comments as spam, but unspammed!

Well, we've got 'backstory' as being pre the Avengers film. I think if we get more films we can bring in tags as and when works are part of a particular film or time period maybe. That would help people who don't want to be spoiled as well, hmmm.

I think I see what you mean. I don't know how we'd go about labelling it though! Maybe 'fall out'? And then when other films come along we could relabel it as 'fall out one' or 'avengers fall out' or something? And what works would you say we'd limit this to? Works dealing with immediately after the film? Works in which consequences of the events of the film are dealt with or referred to?

Re: Ideas
Thank you! I have no idea, either *peers at LJ warily*

*nodnods* Fair! I guess I think of backstory as...before canon, and "canon" is really the movies, not just Avengers, as Natasha is in IM2 and Clint in Thor.

I think "fall out" works, but I suspect how it is tagged is up to the author, like the other tags are. I'd go with "immediate fall-out" and "consequences of the events are dealt with" - just refereed to would be general post-canon work.

Re: Ideas
Okay, will add 'immediate fall-out' to the tagging spree. Sorry, quick reply - off tagging :D
