I come bearing news of a Marvel online sale: The Women of Marvel. My email says that issues are $0.99 (USD) until 11 p.m. EST tonight (11/15) in North America and at "local evening times in other regions."

Most pertinently, The Name of the Rose, Marjorie Liu & Daniel Acuna's excellent Black Widow title is included in this sale. (If you're looking at the sale page, those are going to be the Black Widow #1-5 issues. Yay for confusing comics titles?)

One caveat: Natasha is not with Clint in this arc, though they are friends/partners/fighting companions. The relationship isn't a big part of the story, though. Natasha and her past and who she is and why she does what she does is the focus, and she is amazing throughout. Oh, a second caveat: this is going to spoil the hell out of a major plot point in Captain America: The Winter Soldier. If you know/aren't sure what I'm babbling about, feel free to PM or email me and I'll see if I can confirm or deny w/o spoiling you further.

Nice. I already bought The Name of the Rose a while ago, because it was recommended to me by someone in this awesome bar and it's one of the best comics I've ever read. So if you like Nat not only in combination with Clint than you should definitely think about buying this one.

I have it both digitally and as a trade paperback from a while ago, but I know I've answered comics-verse questions here and thought there might be some people who aren't already on the Marvel mailing lists who would appreciate the heads-up. $4.95 for that arc is such a steal.

Which reminds me, I've got an Avengers Assembled (based on the new cartoon) that wasn't in my long box (is confused...)

Bought the Name of the Rose arc, downloaded them, read them already (the marvel comics app for the android tablets works beautifully, yay!) and enjoyed them very much.

I should be trying to get some sleep before Thor this afternoon but whatever, this was more fun than sleeping (especially with a sinus infection that affects teeth...XD)

I'd only known parts of the war part of Natasha's background so was nice to get the whole picture. Art was pretty good, though weird to me in spots, but that might just me having gotten used to who's been drawing Secret Avengers.

It's funny, I saw the end narration Natasha has on a piece of fan art the other day, didn't know where it came from, makes the art neater.

Also, I know he's only in their briefly but I'm reminded again how glad I am MCU and Secret Avengers Clint doesn't have that mask XD.

This is an excellent place to start, especially at the sale price. Great story and artwork!
