ATTF: Crossovers!
Hello my fellow compromisers.

First off apologies for the late post, I had work and didn't realize I was hosting until late afternoon. But I hope we can still party and have some fun.

Todays theme is Crossovers. Everyone loves the possibility and seeing our favorite characters from different fandoms mash together. So I ask you who from other fandoms would YOU Compromisers like to hang out of our superspies? Don't be shy I don't care if it's cracky like Glee or something cool like Doctor Who! Lets see some cool and cracky ideas.

Heres a few ideas to get the ball rolling:

1) This one is common....Katniss Everdeen from the Hunger Games is the daughter of Clintasha for....reasons.
2) Natasha and River Song are gun totting best friends
3) Clint and Steve McGarrett from Hawaii Five-0 work together on a mission during Steve's early seal days.
4) Clintasha in the SGA world....maybe kicking some Genii butt.

Squee, make some art, write fics, leave prompts but remember the rules:

Things to remember:
1) Always label NSFW (Not Safe For Work) stuff in the title and post under a cut.
2) Fic and artwork needs to have a rating and warnings (or you can say that you’ve chosen not to use warnings).
3) For people with annoying internet connections, say in the title if a comment is graphic/images/gif-heavy and post picspams under a cut.
4) Have a damn good time! (Because if that’s not happening then this post has clearly failed.)

( Post a new comment )

Well. Given Jeremy Renner's ability to score interesting parts in action movies, there seems to be an entire sub-genre of Clint Barton/Will James/Hansel/Aaron Cross/William Brandt/Jason Walsh are the same person. (I actually know a Jason Walsh in RL but he looks nothing like Jeremy Renner, which is too bad, really.) Anyway. That subgenre doesn't really work for me. I think I've seen it done well maybe once, but I can't remember the title. If someone mentions it, I'll happily second a rec...!

I would, however, like to rec [livejournal.com profile] shenshen77's Brothers verse (http://archiveofourown.org/series/46329), which is a three-part series crossover between Avengers and Bourne Legacy, in which Clint is the older brother and Aaron/Kenneth the lost little one.

Also, a prompt. Not sure if it's a crossover -- I have no idea what the second 'verse might be -- it's probably more geared towards A/U-ness. (We found out last week that I don't know the difference although now I do, thanks to [livejournal.com profile] frea_o and [livejournal.com profile] inkvoices.) It could be a crossover with Parade's End, where I got this amazingly delicious line that just BEGS to be turned into a story:

"Air raids permitting"

Dammit, I may have to put that into the writing queue for myself. (Do you ever do that, come up with a title, and then HAVE to write a story around it??)

Edited to fix some ghastly typos.

Thanks for the rec, darling! *tacklehugs you*

I love writing that 'verse and I'm currently working on the fourth fic set there. I find the idea of Clint suddenly having a blood relative very intriguing, all the emotions this evokes on all sides, they're just delicious to explore :) Talk about a family of choice, as Marta and Natasha are really the glue that holds it all together (at least in my head, hehehe).

I have no clue about Parade's End, but that title is gold and I'd love to read what you might cook up there \o/

"Air raids permitting" reminds me of this little headcanon I have about Natasha.. Or one of my versions of Natasha. She doesn't like music with lyrics in them. Or at least, lyrics she can understand. So she likes the Icelandic band Sigur Ros because they either sing in Icelandic - and she doesn't know Iceland and when will she ever need Icelandic I mean really - or Vonlenska which is an entirely made up language. So everything is dandy. And then she found out that Viðrar vel til Loftárása means "good weather for an airstrike". She didn't like that song so much after that.

Hmm, prompts...

How about...

Natasha is actually the daughter of River and the Doctor which explains the red hair and the longevity that she allows others to assume was due to the Red Room although the Red Room was the same awful people who kidnapped her grandmother and mother...

How about...

Thor mentions the time that he almost went out with a woman Trillian and they (Thor, Clint and Natasha) meet up with a man carrying a towel and a book. Bonus points if you have Phil hook up with Fenchurch since after all...she plays the cello and is awesome sauce.

How about...

Clint and Natasha run into problems in Moscow with...

Jack Ryan or

Oliver Queen or

the people from Red 2...

and of course...
Merida is actually the daughter of Clint and Natasha...

I am not too proud to beg. Please! One (or some) of you awesome and talented bar patrons -- please write a piece featuring our favorite assassins crossing paths with the vigilantes of Starling City.

Could you just imagine the testosterone-fueled snark-fest between Clint and Ollie? Or the understanding eye rolls shared between Coulson and Diggle? And the cooperation between Nat and Felicity as they, in their own subtle ways, flirt with the other's partner -- while actually saving the day (of course!)?

Ah, I just went from begging to pleading...

Oh I like that idea with Natasha being River/The Doctors Daughter! If I didn't already have the idea Elizabeth from SGA being their kid I would totally roll with that.

I think Oliver and Clint would be good friends or least have friendly compettion with their arrows. I rp that all the time!

Clint and Tasha in the new Jack Ryan-verse has been rattling around in my head since I saw "Shadow Recruit" (twice) last week. Making it a goal to get the other stories I already have outlined at least written before I attempt it, though.

And can you imagine Clint and Tasha meeting Ivan and Victoria? Hah!

Clint looked to Tasha, brows furrowed as the two senior agents ducked around the next corner. "Did he just call her 'bunny'?"

Tasha sighed, pursing his lips. "I bet that made her reports back to MI6 very interesting reading."

"Like a damned romance novel..." Barton shook his head. "Let's go."

And I imagine there's a crack in there somewhere about how Clint knows that, but that would have to wait. =D

I want to write a story about Clint and Natasha and "The Walking Dead". Something that starts with *Budapest*. :o) I already have a few ideas but I'm totally clueless about the ending. :o/ Maybe later I'll finally find an idea. ;D

I, personally, have a weakness for Firefly crossovers/fusions. But they always seem so hard to do, or to get right. Which I suppose is a testement of Joss Whedon's storytelling or something. Anyway, Two Straight Lines in Rain or Shine by [livejournal.com profile] sienamystic and Ode to Joy by [livejournal.com profile] tinnytins are two such stories that, in my opinion, got it very right.

Also, I wrote The Widow of Bells Brook; a Avengers/Jonathan Strange and Mr Norrell fusiony thing for my own amusement.

BUT THE HERE'S THE BIG ONE: Avengers/American Gods crossover (oh, you're going to get bored of me requesting this); There was a girl, and her uncle sold her, wrote Mr Ibis in his perfect, copper-plate handwriting. That is the tale; the rest is detail.

I have also written something a long these lines which my friend, to whom I gave it as a Christmas present, said it's "less like fanfiction and more a homage to American Gods". Which made me happy. That'll wind its way onto here before long.

I might be mixing up crossover and fusion here. Oh well.

Bwee, thanks for the rec! That was a story I really enjoyed writing, because Clint and Natasha almost feel like they'd so easily slip into that world.

You wrote Avengers/Jonathan Strange? And I was not notified? I'm firing somebody.

Okay, since I spent last several days watching Sherlock and rambling about it to [livejournal.com profile] shenshen77 how about this? Bruce Banner and John Watson are acquaintances/friends/have worked together on something; OR it's John Watson and Clint who have met before. And then after the battle of New York the Avengers are searching for someone smuggling Stark weapons or alien tech or HYDRA people and it turns out that Sherlock Holmes is after the same people. You can count on Tony and Sherlock to get along (not! but banter would be priceless), Sherlock would try to deduce things about Natasha but she would tell him either that he's wrong or try to mislead him, Lestrade would like Steve I think, and Bruce would get along with Molly. Oh and another possibility? Mary and Natasha might have met before.

:D

I'm sure it was John Watson and Clint who met before, both while in Afghanistan with the US and British Army, respectively. Clint got wounded in battle (of course) and found himself in the care of this tiny English surgeon, who not only kept his blood where it belonged, but also proved to be very skilled with his handgun. They snarked a lot and snarled a lot at each other, Clint being annoyed with Watson's OCD and Watson rolling his eyes at Clint's devil-may-care attitude. Yeah, they didn't really click, but they managed to survive together and have an appreciation for the other guy's skills.
Also Mary and Natasha totally met before, just like Watson and Clint they used to run in the same circles. But it's all rather hush-hush, as international espionage and assassinations tend to be. So all in all I think them meeting again could be very, very interesting :D

Damn you, woman, you're giving me plotbunnies! Please write those for me, hehehe ;)

Can we please have this happen?

When Mary Morstan turned out to be a Assassin I'm like IT'S ROMANOFF!!!

And Tony and Sherlock together by god it will be like a comedy rather than a drama.

This is my thing with crossovers...99 times out of a 100, I have never watched or read the other piece of fiction that is being crossed over. So sometimes I will read it and enjoy it but its basically a fic with original characters in it to me.

[identity profile] anuna-81.livejournal.com on January 25th, 2014 06:12 pm (UTC)
Heee, I can understand that. As a writer of crossovers, they're so much fun to deal with when you have twos ets of characters you really adore, and then you get to read or write about them interact. Maybe you need a well written corssover between two things you really like!
[identity profile] sugar-fey.livejournal.com on January 25th, 2014 09:39 pm (UTC)
I've got a major, major weakness for Harry Potter crossovers. Clint/Nat at Hogwarts, obviously, but also Clint and Natasha being part of the Order of the Phoenix. Give me all the fic please.

I'd really like to a crossover/fusion with Battlestar Galactica. I'd love to put Natasha and Kara Thrace in a room together and see what happens.

This is more of an AU than a crossover, but I love fusions with His Dark Materials, where all the characters have daemons.

YES to HP crossovers (do you know of any good ones? I can't remember finding any good ones). And YES to daemons. I love making up daemons. In fact, I think I did that for the entire MCU a while back...

Kara and Nat in the same room would be... interesting. :P

I feel like if Clint and Natasha went to the Pegasus galaxy and ran into the Wraith they'd be like 'well that's different' but not be overly surprised by those aliens (after what they went through in New York they just take the crazy in stride). Sheppard would want to know why they're not more shaken while Natasha and Clint just smile and continue kicking butt.

Also I found a pretty awesome Batman/Avengers crossover where Darcy runs into Nightwing and Clint figures who Nightwing is by the way Grayson uses some acrobatic moves in his fighting (Clint worked at Haly's for a season and was floored by the youngest Flying Grayson). It's hilarious and highly recommend you read it if you haven't already.
[identity profile] sweetwatersong.livejournal.com on January 26th, 2014 04:17 am (UTC)
If Clint and Nat were part of the original expedition to Pegasus, you'd have to muck with timelines to make it work, but it could happen. ;) Or they could be embedded by SHIELD into the Stargate program and volunteer to hop over to Pegasus to keep exploring other realms, especially those Asgard has no contact with.

Or, going back to their roots, Natasha could have been inserted into the program by the Red Room (during that lovely disastrous stint when Russia had its own Stargate). Once there she discovers the perfect way to be rid of her handlers/chains; there's a whole galaxy to get lost in out there, after all. Meanwhile Clint, an Army soldier drafted in for his steady aim and unflappable nature (the smart-ass mouth was part of the package, unfortunately), meets her when the two programs are merged. He ends up helping her fake her death and ultimately return to Stargate Command under the guise of an American team member, a fake identity SGC put together.

And then Pegasus. Or anything. Because, you know, it's a brand new universe out there. ;)

While if the SGA canon is set after the battle of New York would be interesting since I can see Clint being cautious around ailens as dangerous as the wraith and replicators. I would actually prefer Clint and Natasha meet the Genii. Especially since Acastus Kolya is probably one of the targets the two probably dream of going after especially since he's usually so hard to kill if they love the thrill of the chase.

Speaking of Sheppard I can see him getting along with with Clint, since I see them both as the wisecracking brooding male figure you cannot resist.
