ATTF: Clintasha and the Agents of SHIELD
Hello best bar ever....I am your host [livejournal.com profile] theladymore and now that is May (perfect for this weeks theme right?), and we're getting over our Captain America frenzy....heres a new shiny theme.

In October 2012 at NYCC (Which I was at Thank you very much) Joss Whedon announced a surprised that got the whole Fandom hyped up in a happy Frenzy. The news was our beloved Phillip J. Coulson who we tragically mourned for his demise at the hands of Loki, was going to come back from the dead and be part of his very own show. In September that next year we were introduced to a lovely show called Agents of SHIELD where we introduced to the mysterious, take no Prisoners agent Melinda May, the quirky reformed hacktivist with her heart on her sleeve Skye Coulson-May -coughs- wow I should get that checked out, The brooding, easily Angered and and double crossing Grant Ward, The sensitive yet manchild Leopold "Leo" Fitz and finally his other half the take charge, kind and self proclaimed whovian Jemma Simmons. Together we've seen them go through strange cases, wild twists and turns and cried over emotional ships (-waves her Philinda and Fitzsimmons Flags).

Now throughout the season we've seen some people from the MCU like the awesome Maria Hill, The Beautiful Lady Sif and of course Nick Fury....but what if our favorite Assassins were to crossover into the show? Or any member of the MCU for that matter. Todays your day to post what you feel might happen through fic prompts and discussion

To start off here are some of my headcanons for AGENTS of SHIELD and Clintasha interactions.

1) As it seems Clint did not have as criminal past in the MCU.....my headcanon for Clint on how he joined Shield is Phil recruited him at the age of 17. How they found him, well when Clint was 17 he worked at the IOWA fair grounds to help his recently adoptive parents pay for college as thanks for being patient with him and his deafness. His job was basically cleaning up after people. On his off times he was trained by the Swordsman in knife throwing and using a bow and arrow. Clint discovered he was a Criminal under Shields radar when he was attacking Phil and his partner Melinda May. He wound up Subduing the Swordsman by shooting an arrow about 40 Yards away and landing it perfectly into the Swordsman's kneecap. Impressed by that Melinda and Coulson suggested he join SHIELD with being Deaf and ADA still not in effect Clint thought it was his only chance to do well so he accepted.

2) Coulson was Clint's SO until he took the role of being Natasha's Partner and Superior officer.

3) While Clint was there to train her, Melinda became some sort of Pseudo mentor to Natasha even after the Baharain incident.

4) Since Natasha was the one to leak all the hidden information to SHIELD out into the world she was the first Avenger to find out that Coulson was indeed alive. She was actually quite relieved.

5) Clint on the other hand when he found out Coulson was alive he was rather pissed he was lied to. After all being the one who trained and brought Clint into SHIELD he felt a close connection to the man. For years after the New York incident he continually punched himself for what happened after all he knew if he wasn't compromised he might have been able to save his friend. To know he suffered for nothing was a heavy blow.

6) Natasha feels a special connection to Skye. After all like Skye she was a loner and criminal with no family who joined SHIELD because potential was seen in them, its because of this she sometimes gives the young agent advice and looks for her well being.

7) Fitz and Simmons introduced Clintasha to Doctor Who.

8) SPOILER!!! Clint and Natasha pitty Ward. Neither believe Ward is in Hydra on his own accord. Natasha believes Ward was in Hydra for the same reason she went to the red room...he needed somewhere to belong. Clint believes he was unmade and brainwashed like he was with Loki

Now go forth, discuss and create fics even if we have crossover pairs! But remember the rules!!!

Things to remember:
1) Always label NSFW (Not Safe For Work) stuff in the title and post under a cut.
2) Fic and artwork needs to have a rating and warnings (or you can say that you’ve chosen not to use warnings).
3) For people with annoying internet connections, say in the title if a comment is graphic/images/gif-heavy and post picspams under a cut.
4) Have a damn good time! (Because if that’s not happening then this post has clearly failed.)

I love Agents of SHIELD and how it's all connected. I couldn't always say that. While I liked the show from the very beginning, I kept waiting to love it and was getting a little nervous that that love affair was never going to blossom. And then DeathLoc and Lady Sif gave me hope. And then HYDRA made me a believer.

Over the season I've developed this head canon: while brought into SHIELD as a target for assassination, Natasha has become the (internal) poster child of the organization. She raised the bar, she invigorated the agents, she pushed the leadership to lead, she made SHIELD better. She is the comparison against which all the top agents strive for. That's why she's mentioned so often. She is comfortable with everything, while Barton is the silent but deadly type. He doesn't need to be referenced to remind us of his role. He brought the Widow in. I guess that's 'nuff said (though I'd love to hear more from/about him).

And IMHO no reference is better than the famous one that mentions Nat and Clint together as a team that doesn't have an extraction plan that was spoken by Victoria Hand (whom I will be paying homage to tomorrow at the comic book store for Free Comic Book Day -- just back from the stylist with a few red-fuchsia hair extensions!). I love that Strike Team is that legendary!

Yes! to the Hand reference.

I think Natasha is being mentioned more often than Clint because she is more of an agent; after Manhattan, there are probably still a lot of people who don't trust him and so he's off doing the lone wolf thing at Fury's behest (see my comment below).
