ATTF: The Little Things
Hello everyone! Today's All The Things Friday is about any little headcanons or details you have about Clint and Natasha's relationship and their lives together. Who steals the blankets? What are their favourite TV shows? Do they even have time to watch TV? What are their apartments like? Does Clint make breakfast for Natasha in the morning? Do they have secret ways of checking in with each other on missions? Any little detail you can come up with.

My personal little headcanon is that in the early days of their partnership, Clint gave Natasha his hoodie during a rough mission because she was cold. She didn't say much at the time, but she has yet to give the hoodie back. ;)

Have fun everyone!

Things to remember:
1) Always label NSFW (Not Safe For Work) stuff in the title and post under a cut.
2) Fic and artwork needs to have a rating and warnings (or you can say that you’ve chosen not to use warnings).
3) For people with annoying internet connections, say in the title if a comment is graphic/images/gif-heavy and post picspams under a cut.
4) Have a damn good time! (Because if that’s not happening then this post has clearly failed.)

I maintain the idea that Natasha likes Sigur Ros. Which is, of course, because I like Sigur Ros. But I also like the idea that she would. Clint likes the Lord of the Rings.

They don't have much time for TV, but they enjoy films and read a surprising amount. Clint included.

I think Natasha's house is small and cosy and full of things that she's collected and that mean someting to her. Clint's, in contrast, is large and open and pretty spartan, though not in an empty way, more in a utilitarian way.

Their downtime wear is hoodies and jeans and shoes they can run in. They know to whom the jeans and shoes belong, but the hoodies and tshirts are anyones guess. They're mostly bought from charity shops/thrift stores.

I love the idea of them not knowing whose hoodies are whose!

Clothes sharing for the win! :D

Heres my headcanon:

I've always seen Nat as the more dominant one when it comes to every little thing in their relationship. Not that Clint minds. To him it's a symbol...he is showing her he could put his complete trust in her.

Clint loves sci fi shows (Star Trek, Firefly) but has absolutely no use for the so-called "reality" ones. In fact, he once suggested to Fury that SHIELD should put the producers of these things (also, the Kardashians and Lindsay Lohan) on its hit list given the danger they represent for the human race as a whole.

"Clear and present danger, sir. Everytime this shit comes on TV, the collective IQ of the human race drops. Pretty soon there won't be anything left."

"Get out of my office, Barton. That's what the 'off' button on your TV is for."

"What I'm saying, Director. The 'off' button. I'd be happy to off them permanently, as a service to mankind. I'd even do it for free, outside working hours."

...

Natasha has a secret addiction to fashion magazines, which she hides by claiming that "I only read them on airplanes". Initially she considered them 'research' -- this is how the successful North American (fill in the blanks) dresses -- but when she and Clint became involved, she started reading the relationship advice columns and now she's hooked on trying out some of the tips for dealing with men. Most of them have backfired spectacularly, except for the one that listed the "10 best tips for keeping your sex life fresh!" Items #2, #5 and #7 were particularly successful.

For me, when they both have time to sit and watch tele together, I can see them watching some the reality programmes, at least the ones that have to do with survival in the wild. I can just see them spending an hour downing something cold and making snarky comments at the screen, or deciding the best vantage points from which to kill those "survivors."

That works for me ... I think it's the ones about the has-been or wannabe celebrities that have Clint cleaning out his fingernails with a buck knife. ;-)

Oh yes. I have vivid images of Clint saying "Really? This is the reason we protect the world?" followed by resignation papers on Hill's desk. There's no signature on it, just an arrow lodged through it.

Actually, that's head cannon for me: whenever either of them are too angry or tired, or when they just want to screw with the desk jockeys, they don't bother with pens. An arrow or a knife is signature enough.

This is perfect!

My headcanon has Clint getting into these long, dark moods where he's quiet and closes down, a way of processing terribly strong feelings. These usually happen during downtime on the helicarrier or at Avengers Tower, never on a job. Natasha just keeps close by, but when she decides it's time to draw him out, she takes him to the archery range and makes him give her lessons in shooting arrows. She insists on using his bow, despite its heavy draw (or whatever the term is), and that makes him feel protective (of both it and her, even though she's careful and fairly proficient) and he's soon shaken out of his mood.
