Promptathon is Coming Up!

Hello lovelies!

Remember how around this time last year, we had our annual Summer Promptathon? Well, it's happening again!

(Are you excited? I'm excited)

Our plan is to run Promptathon in August. We're still discussing dates, and for this, we need YOUR HELP. We appreciate feedback on the following:

1. Approximately when would be a good time for Promptathon to happen? We want to make sure that anyone who wants to participate in Promptathon will be able to, so we'll aim to have our dates when most people are free.

2. Would you want one week or two weeks to post prompts?

3. Is a one week break enough time to work on fills for prompts?

4. Would you want two weeks or three weeks to post prompt fills? Remember we can extend posting dates if necessary.

Do!! Finding the courage to write, and let others see what you did, is utterly liberating. I took my emotional well-being in hand just over 3 years ago now, and I never looked back. So much fun!!! (Plus, you meet great people ...;-) )

I am very excited for this promptathon, I think a week to post prompts, then a week to work on fills makes sense, with at least two weeks to post!

YAY!!! This is so exciting I couldn't really participate in the last one (in February) so I'm so happy we're doing it again.

I think a week to post prompts, a week to work on them and then maybe two weeks to fill them? (Yes that's pretty much a month shhh)

For dates, I'd prefer mid August as opposed to late August as I have a lot of travel planned near the end of the month (DragonCooooooon!) But I agree with the one week to prompt and one week at least to fill. I'll never argue against having more time to fill though given we usually get a ton of prompts I end up wanting to write...

The later the dates the better for me tbh, due to my work schedule in August and weekends away. Plus, I've got three bangs due over the course of the month. /o\

I think a week to prompt and a break week before posting is a great idea. But August is also Marvel_bang month (rough drafts are due Aug 31), and some of us *cough cough* are caught up in that. Is there any reason we can't extend the time for posting to, say, mid-September? I mean, more stories is a good thing, no? Why put an artificially tight lid on their creation? :-)

I would say either early or mid-August that way you get people before the last minute vacations/heading back to school.

I think I'm kinda screwed, no matter how I look at this: I am currently chained to my sewing machine and/or my heatgun working on costumes for DragonCon. (Who knew Asgardian armor was such a PITA?) DragonCon is 29 August - 1 September. THEN, when I get back from there, I get to go back to Canada to pack my stuff and move back to the US for the end of the month. ZOMGNOPRESSURE!

...which means, of course, the muses will finally be bugging the crap out of me.

So maybe mid-to-late August for prompts and early September for fills?

I think one week is enough for prompt filling for a break

I tend to say that two weeks for posting prompts and fills is good.
