A/N:  Clint backstory, pre-Natasha; crossover with Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. by virtue of some of the characters.  (That's okay to post here, yes?)  This is based on a desire by franztastisch for a fic in which it is Melinda May who recruits Clint into S.H.I.E.L.D.
