*Deep breath, braces for impact*: I'd like Clint to be in it too. Because I don't think he's ever going to get his own movie otherwise. Unless he gets a short, based on Fraction? That would satisfy my cravings.

Which reminds me -- are there any good rumours for "the short" (for there must be one, no?) on the Cap2 BluRay when it comes out?

Oh, and I am SO booking my tickets for opening night of Guardians of the Galaxy. JUST to see the post-credits scene....

I think the backlash you're probably seeing is that a lot of times when we see Natasha getting her own movie, people are like BUT BUCKY AND CLINT SHOULD BE HER BOND GIRLS and that kind of takes away from the focus on Natasha. But yeah, I'd like Clint to show up. He can play a supporting role, like Natasha did in Cap 2 or like Rhodey in the Iron Man roles. We're all just worried it'll get away from Natasha if they start adding alllllll the dudes. I wouldn't put it past Feige.

We sure don't need all the dudes, let alone Bucky. He can stick with his BFF, as far as I'm concerned. But a Natasha picking up the post-SHIELD pieces and uncovering HYDRA links to the Red Room and stuff? A well-armed (see what I did there?) sidekick might come in handy ...

THIS! This is what I want, Clint to play Nat to Nat's Cap. If that makes any sense at all (And I think, considering how the MCU has set it up, Bucky actually has very little to do with Nat in this Universe. Which makes me happy.)

Yeah, my BuckyNat friends are very upset about that, but I'm okay with it cos the reworked MCU timeline just makes all of the opportunities for "STEVE WHAT IS YOUR FRIEND DOING NOW?" looks from Natasha absolutely GOLDEN.

I JUST WANT FRIENDS. (Though Clint/Nat secret married is also a guilty love of mine. :P)

I want him in it too. I understand the "tired of white guys" thing, but...people don't live in a bubble. And Clint is obviously super important to Natasha. From what we have seen (which isn't much, admittedly), he seems to be the most important person to her.

I think it's more that people are wary of how a supporting cast might be used, and how that might detract from Natasha as a focus of the film.

And isn't this a part of the problem? That there are so few female leads in (superhero) films that we're scared that when there's even a possibility of them happening we all have so much riding on them, that one character has to represent so many people which they just can't, and there's worries about other characters... Sure, let's have Clint in Natasha's film. And let's have a Captain Marvel, Wonder Woman, and Ms Marvel film in the same year. And Wasp can join the party when Ant Man happens. And Yelena can be in Natasha's film. Let's have more ladies and characters of colour and disability and diversity.

And then when Natasha gets her own film we'd be just as excited at Clint being in her film as we were at Natasha being in Steve's film.

I have no idea what the short will be, but I am excited! I know I've been missing tonnes of extras by not being blurays but Cap extras.... 2nd or 3rd of August for Guardians for me as it's a group trip. EXCITEMENT :D

Dammit, PLEASE let there be a Black Widow movie in the works. It just seems like such a waste not to do one. She is so fricken interesting and amazing and its SCARLETT JOHANNSON.

Well the Storm comic came out this week - a lady and character of colour with her own comic. One of a fair few female led comics Marvel have brought out recently, including Black Widow, Elektra, She-Hulk, Ms Marvel, Captain Marvel, the all-female X Men... And there's going to a woman who wields the power of Thor. Falcon will pick up Captain America's SHIELD. There's going to be an issue of Hawkeye with deaf Clint and sign language.

At the moment I am feeling positive about the direction Marvel is going in. I've gone from hoping for a Black Widow film, or any female led superhero film, to being optimistic that we might actually get one.

Extract from Marvel press release over the new Thor, emphasis mine:

"THOR is the latest in the ever-growing and long list of female-centric titles that continues to invite new readers into the Marvel Universe. THOR will be the 8th title to feature a lead female protagonist and aims to speak directly to an audience that long was not the target for super hero comic books in America: women and girls."

Gosh, do we need to break out confession bear or unpopular opinion puffin for hoping for Clint in a Black Widow movie? ;) I don't think it's realistic to think that Marvel would make a movie without a 'white dude' in it, or if I'd even consider that desirable from a storytelling point of view, but all of the MCU movies I've seen have some kind of sidekick/backup for the title character. Rhodey, Bucky, Sif and co, Natasha. I think a BW movie without Hawkeye would feel as glaringly obvious as going all of CA2 without even a throw-away mention of him... (sorry, a little miffed about that still...)
