Natasha was being sold by the KGB and was going to end up dead when Clint bought her to save her and bring her to SHIELD. It takes him a while to convince her not to treat him like her new master/handler.

Natasha is ex-KGB with a rap sheet longer and more detailed than Clint’s personal history, which he knows never translates to easy trust. Still, Clint’s long been in the business of second chances – that “don’t ask, don’t tell” mentality that let him survive in the circus and afterwards – and if there’s one thing that he’ll stake his life on, it’s that Natasha definitely deserves a second chance.

I have a weird hankering for Clint being Eliot's kid and being raised by the post-series Leverage crew where he learned acrobatics and his love for heights from Parker, how to be handy with mechanics and tech hardware from Hardison (which he later turned to designing his own bow, arrows, and quiver), and to cook and not like guns from Eliot. Also, Eliot had history with a carnival, if I recall correctly, and thus Clint's interest, though Eliot was totally opposed to his joining SHIELD until he brought back the Black Widow (which made Eliot more than a little incredulous) to meet the family shortly after her recruitment.

In short, I don't even know if this hankering is realistic, but I want it.

OHHHHHHH, I can't even say how much I love this prompt! It speaks to my almost lawyer side ;) Granted, the law system I studied and the one Clint and Nat would have to work with, but I'd read the hell out of this one if someone would write it.

AU where Natasha knows absolutely nothing about pets and Maria gave her a cat. She's out walking said cat when she bumps into Clint walking Lucky, who thankfully doesn't mind filling her in a bit while not laughing at her and sabotaging her computer against getting valuable research (like certain 'friends').

Natasha learns to bake cookies. When Clint sees the kitchen covered in recipes, he demonstrates how very good he is at making an exit. Too bad this might take her a few days—or weeks.

Outsider POV of the books they read and/or have on their shelves/in their room and how they draw the totally wrong conclusions on who likes what and why.

They're both in military medical school and get teamed up on an assignment.

Feeling nostalgic for his Malibu home, Tony has a beautiful grand piano delivered to Avenger's Tower. It resides in a lesser-used, more out-of-the-way area of the penthouse common area. Both Clint and Nat eye it longingly over time. In an odd turn of events, the tower is empty except for Clint. He wanders around and finds himself at the piano. He begins to play. Nat arrives at the tower thinking nobody is there and decides to make her way to the piano, too. A new secret is discovered. (Could reverse roles, if preferred)

After the fall of SHIELD, Tony Stark dares Natasha to do something just for fun. After all, Nat's worked almost every day of her life, and Tony riles her up by saying he doesn't believe that she even knows how to have fun. That's how she ends up trying out for a realty cooking show.

Wow! That one just smacks you in the gut.

Because I've been watching too much reality TV lately...

Clint and Natasha as a team of architect and lawyer helping out people who have been duped by contractors and are now living in the ruins of their dream home, your choice of who does which. The lawyer will try to bring about some kind of agreement with the contractor/getting justice for the clients while the architect and their team work on righting all that's wrong with the house and making it into a home.

I like it. I like it a lot.

Natasha writes a very personal anonymous letter in some sort of newspaper or periodical looking for help from the Winter Soldier who she thinks escaped, but she doesn't know he doesn't remember her, didn't escape but was sold to Hydra, and that help isn't coming. Except Clint's in Europe and he reads her letter and figures out what she actually means and takes a side-trip on whatever his mission of the hour is to track her down and be there for her.

Natasha has been wondering about this for a long time now. Finally, she can't stand it anymore.

"Maria," she asks over a cappuccino. "Do you have any idea why so many people seem to be convinced that Barton and Coulson are a Thing?"
