Title: only a wound that love had opened
Author:

Word Count: 9523
Warnings: None
Summary: On Natasha’s first day at S.H.I.E.L.D., on her first full day as someone free of brainwashing or past mistakes, there are people that look at her like she’s still something that can be broken, like she’s still a bomb that will go off if you punch in the wrong code while trying to figure out another way to diffuse it. (or, Clint Barton and Natasha Romanov throughout the years: the story of a spy learning to love a soldier.)
A/N: Written for Avengersfest 2014. By sheer coincidence, I ended up being matched with my good friend
enigma731, which made my job pretty easy - except for the part where I had to basically try and hide the fact that I was writing a fic for her every time we talked. But I really loved tackling most of her prompts and putting them together in one (very long and involved) story. Enjoy!
