ATTF: Community Trick-or-Treating
trick or treat

Happy (almost) Halloween, bar! It's been quite a week in fandom, hasn't it? This post will be the spot for your community Halloween party for the next week or so!

Last year a bunch of people did fandom trick-or-treating on their personal journals (here's mine, for an example) and it was so much fun that I decided to steal the meme.

So, here's how I'm going to adapt it for the community:

  • If you want to give out treats, reply to this post with the comment "My door is open" or something clear to that effect!

  • Your fellow bar patrons will then reply to your comment with "trick-or-treat"

  • You will provide some sort of treat (or trick, I suppose)! Treats can be anything you want--a picspam, a short comment fic, a compliment, or anything else that strikes your fancy!

  • There is no deadline for providing treats. You are also welcome to put a limit on how many things you're willing/able to fill.

  • Anyone can participate!

  • Out of consideration for your fellow bar patrons, please refrain from including Age of Ultron trailer spoilers. I know we're all excited, but this is going to be a busy post, and I'd hate to see the experience ruined for anyone.

trick or treat 2

Things to remember:
1) Always label NSFW (Not Safe For Work) stuff in the title and post under a cut.
2) Fic and artwork needs to have a rating and warnings (or you can say that you’ve chosen not to use warnings).
3) For people with annoying internet connections, say in the title if a comment is graphic/images/gif-heavy and post picspams under a cut.
4) Have a damn good time! (Because if that’s not happening then this post has clearly failed.)

Natasha was laying on top of Clint, running her hand lazily up and down his torso, when suddenly the archer let out what could only be termed a squeal.

Natasha paused and instinctively ghosted her hand back over the same spot. This time, while Clint held back a squeal, he couldn't contain his flinch.

As a truly mischievous grin stole across the redhead's face, Clint put his hand over his eyes. He was never going to hear the end of this.

FICLET: The Right Way to Stab Someone in the Head
Natasha walked into the briefing room and froze.

What the hell...

Maria Hill was dressed like a very stereotypical gypsy. Clint had (what was actually pretty good) zombie make-up on. Coulson had a fake knife protruding from the top of his head with lots of hopefully-fake blood dripping down his face and covering the front of his shirt.

And Fury - Nicholas J. Fury was wearing a red pirate bandanna.

Seriously. What. The. Hell.

"Where's your costume, Romanoff?" asked Hill.

"My what?"

"Halloween, Tasha," Clint explained. "Every Halloween everyone at SHIELD dresses up."

"Right..." Natasha said as she took her seat. As she did so, she looked at Coulson.

"You know, the guy that did that should be fired. You could live."

Everyone looked at her in various stages of surprise.

"Just saying," she said calmly.

Happy Halloween, Clint thought with a smile.

I saw the title and knew I had to read it! Pirate Fury, yes! And Natasha, you are scary and wise in the ways of the dead. ;)

FICLET: Trick-or-Treating at SHIELD (a.k.a. Arrival of the Spawn)
The public might be surprised to know how many SHIELD employees have children. Then again, a lot of SHIELD employees would probably be surprised, as well. So it was that two Halloweens before the Battle of Manhattan, SHIELD decided to open up a few floors of the New York office to employees' spawn for Trick-or-Treating (or at least that's how Natasha phrased it.)

The kids were heavily supervised by SHIELD employees, with a ratio of at least one parent/guardian plus an additional SHIELD rep per child. The kids trotted around in their little Buzz Lightyear and Disney Princess costumes and various SHIELD departments set up little trick-or-treat stands in office doorways. The whole thing was actually pretty fun and would ultimately become an annual tradition.

It was that first year that also clued Bobbi Morse into Clint and Natasha's new relationship.

After the rug rats went home and everyone was cleaning up, Bobbi passed Clint in the hallway and mumbled something under her breath. Clint stopped and turned around.

"What?"

Bobbi paused and - obviously looking around - turned to look at him with a somewhat irritated expression on her face.

"I said - I hope this one turns out better," she said with a fairly disgusted look on her face.

Clint had no answer for that. As far as he knew, children had never come en masse into SHIELD before. His ever-so-articulate response?

"Huh?"

"You and Natasha," she said, although the unspoken "dumbass" at the end of the statement was heavily implied.

"Oh..." his voice trailed off. The only other time he had gotten romantically involved with a mission partner was Bobbi. It had been good while it lasted, but the time apart had ultimately been their death knell. He thought they had ended on good terms, though.

"Me, too?" He actually believed that it would be much better long-term. He and Natasha had something special. He had no idea how to say that to Bobbi, though. "Wait, how do you know?"

Looking around again, clearly ready to leave, Bobbi rolled her eyes at him. "Your partner has jealousy issues, Barton. No woman looks at another woman like that unless there's a man involved. Trust me. And Natasha's never looked at me like that before. The dots weren't hard to connect." With that, his ex gave him a look that he couldn't quite decipher and headed back down the hall.

Huh. Natasha was jealous? Frankly, he thought that boded pretty well for the future. Not that he was going to say that to either of the women involved.

Clint smiled and headed towards his and Natasha's closet/office. This was shaping up to be a pretty good Halloween.

FICLET: Trick-or-Treating Guard Duty
Knock, knock, knock.

Natasha jumped off the couch, grabbing her pistol off of the coffee table as she did so.

"Clint!" she called in a low but firm tone, "are we expecting anyone?" She didn't remember him saying anything about ordering take-out.

Her partner came in from the kitchen with a bowl of candy in his hands.

"It's okay, I've got it," he said, taking in her stance and gun as he did so. "Well, I guess it could be someone using trick-or-treating as cover to get in. Good idea." Natasha looked at him blankly. "You better stay behind the door, though. Don't want you to scare any toddlers."

He looked through the peephole he had crossed to as he spoke and then - much to Natasha's surprise as she jumped behind the door as he had recommended - opened the door.

"Trick-or-treat!" a chorus of little voices shouted from the apartment hallway.

"Oh, my goodness!" Natasha heard Clint exclaim. "You are the best witch ever!"

"I told Mary Cunkle that my hat was better than hers," said a smug little girl's voice.

"Don't be a show-off, Megan!" said the voice of a boy who sounded a year or two older.

"Hey, dude, your astronaut outfit kicks -" Clint corrected himself mid-sentence, "- butt!"

"Thank you, sir," a motherly voice said and her spawn echoed her sentiment, after which Clint closed the door to find Natasha still standing at attention.

"It's October 31," she said flatly.

"Why, yes, it is."

"We haven't been in the U.S. on Halloween before."

"Why, no, we haven't."

"There are days I hate Americans."

Clint just smiled. Clearly he would be the one handing out candy tonight; he'd leave guard duty to the Russian.
