ATTF: Promptathon Squee!
Okay, best bar. We're going strong with Promptathon right now, aka the most wonderful time of the year (well, at least next to Secret Santa....)

This is just a post for all of us to share squee, ideas for fills, or talk about whatever's currently on our minds regarding our favorite assassins. Have a prompt that you're totally into and has been giving you feelings for days, but just don't know what to write about? Stuck on that one idea but determined to write something/finish something soon? (That one would be me...) Need to bounce ideas off other members of the comm? This is the place to do it! Come pull up a chair, grab a drink and come squee!

Things to remember:
1) Always label NSFW (Not Safe For Work) stuff in the title and post under a cut.
2) Fic and artwork needs to have a rating and warnings (or you can say that you’ve chosen not to use warnings).
3) For people with annoying internet connections, say in the title if a comment is graphic/images/gif-heavy and post picspams under a cut.
4) Have a damn good time! (Because if that’s not happening then this post has clearly failed.)

SQUEE! Alas, I will only manage one fill ... which I already posted, in a teeny window of writing opportunity. RL is kicking me hard in the teeth right now ... Hope tomorrow I'll have the chance to do some prompty-goodness reading...

SQUEES WITH YOU! At this point I'll probably only manage one myself, though at least it's one that I'm happy with (I think...jury's halfway out.) And same with the reading!

I loved that story!!!

::hugs:: I am so very sympathetic to this... RL decided to rear its head over here, too. (In my case, this might actually lead to more writing since I'm planning to indulge in a very hefty degree of escapism? But, yes.)

I am so excited for this, I'm not even kidding. I'm not working on any fills yet but i will be! :D This will hopefully be what i am doing all weekend, we'll see. I don't know if any of my fills will be super long either, although there are a few I want to make into longer fic, but I am really eager to try and sink my teeth into some of the prompts..

Fills don't have to be super long! :) That's the awesome thing about promptathon -- it gives everyone a chance to write something fun, whether it's 100 words or 10,000 words. :) We're just excited to see what you come up with, because there are so many fun prompts out there that basically are begging for an excuse to be written. This is basically why I have so many lists on my phone each year, heh.

I totally get that but there are a few that jumped out at me and just said "Make me long!" And I just shake my head and go "but...But 'm still learning how to do longfic!"

It's the constant war between idea and execution in my head though XD
[identity profile] findthesea.livejournal.com on August 21st, 2015 10:24 pm (UTC)
Heeee! I get that too. I have a....well, let's just call it a compulsion to make EVERYTHING an epic. And sometimes my brain just can't do it. But I'm really looking forward to seeing what you come up with :)

I have a whole slew of them save don my onetab so I can pull them up and work on them through the promptathon. It's horrible, you all are going to consume my writing or a while, but I have no regrets.

Oh. My. God. Tell me about it. Once upon a time I knew how to write short fic. I don't know what happened. :/ It's like "oh look! This would make a great scene!" and then it's all "HERE AND NOW HAVE THE ENTIRE BACKSTORY AND EVERYONE ELSE'S STORY AND ALL THE THINGS!" ::facepalm::
[identity profile] feralletters.livejournal.com on August 23rd, 2015 08:58 pm (UTC)
*high five!* It's silly and ridiculous and yet i get so much joy out of knowing ALL THE THINGS! Because stories, I will take all the stories.
[identity profile] cybermathwitch.livejournal.com on August 23rd, 2015 09:29 pm (UTC)
Don't get me wrong - I love knowing ALL THE STORIES. Only, then they never get posted, because I hate hate hate writing things as WIPs. Been there, done that, have the t-shirt, thanksbutno. lol.

Story of my life...I started writing, got stuck, and stopped altogether.

Maybe I should just do a 3-sentence fic? I can manage 3 sentences...I think. lol
[identity profile] alphaflyer.livejournal.com on August 22nd, 2015 07:04 am (UTC)
Three-sentence-fics are a great way to get over that initial hump! *waves pompoms of enablement*

Oooo, yes, do the thing!

I actually found a prompt I really wanna write. This was not supposed to happen. You're all awful. :C

(I've been awake for less than an hour, no squee available over here yet, lol.)

Dooooo iiiiiiiiit.

I was up until two o'clock working on another prompt. At the time I thought it was the most brilliant thing I'd ever written. I looked at it again this morning and I'm like...this can use some work :)
[identity profile] sugar-fey.livejournal.com on August 22nd, 2015 09:20 pm (UTC)
That happens all the time. I write something on impulse in the dead of night, look at it again in the morning and go 'whut.' 'Tis the curse of the sleepless writer. :P
