ATTF: Around the world in less than 80 days
Hello dear patrons of the bar!

You are about to face a very special challenge. This fortnight's ATTF is called Around the World In Less Than 80 Days.

We all know Natasha and Clint's professions take them to locations all over the world. Our mission, should we choose to accept it, is to write three sentence drabbles or a flash fics set in as many different global locations as we can. Draw uppn your own travels for inspiration, or let Google be your guide! You can write a fic set in France, Uzbekistan, India, the list goes on... send Clint and Natasha whereever your imagination takes you.

If possible, try not to repeat a location somebody else has already used- the goal is variety!

Open Google Maps, starting digging through your Lonely Planets and your travel photos, and HAVE FUN!

Things to remember:
1) Always label NSFW (Not Safe For Work) stuff in the title and post under a cut.
2) Fic and artwork needs to have a rating and warnings (or you can say that you’ve chosen not to use warnings).
3) For people with annoying internet connections, say in the title if a comment is graphic/images/gif-heavy and post picspams under a cut.
4) Have a damn good time! (Because if that’s not happening then this post has clearly failed.)

Prompts!
Leave prompts here! These can be location specific, but they don't have to be.

"For a place that's basically a desert, Ashgabat sure has a lot of fountains," Clint's voice comes in her ear piece even as the head of the Turkmen security service topples into a particularly elaborate alabaster confection, an arrow sticking out of his chest.

The engine of the Lada backfires and dies as soon as Natasha tries to start it; getting away before their mark is discovered has just become immensely more complicated.

Natasha hooks her arm into Clint's and says, as they walk away without looking back, "Hope what they say is true, about blood being thicker than water."

"You said 'spa,'" Natasha sighed, "I should have known better when you said 'spa.'"

"I said 'like a spa,'" Clint corrected, "I did bring your favorite massage oil and there's also a winery on San Juan Island."

Natasha rolled her eyes, but let him take her hand as they walked off the ferry.

I think this maybe deserves a long fic with more details about that oil... ;)

I'm with Cassie. More oil! :-)

The covered bazaar in Istanbul is a rabbit warren of corridors, lined with stalls that are overflowing with textiles, Iznik tiles, colourful leather goods, gold chains and the occasional evil eye; Natasha ignores it all. She brushes past the men trying to offer the "pretty lady" a glass of apple tea in exchange for a look at their carpets; her nostrils are flaring as she follows the scent that will inevitably lead her to her prey.

Sure enough: "Best baklava this side of Gaziantep," Clint says around a mouthful of flaky pastry, sounding not the least repentant.

FIC: Ka Mate, Ka Ora
OH MY GOD THIS IS MY JAM. GEOGRAPHY. :D :D (If you want someone to make an alphabetised masterlist of joy, feel free to let me know. I WOULD LOVE TO)

"Why are we here?" Natasha asks as she inches her way past rows of spectators dressed in black.

"Because this is basically religion here," Clint says, finding their seats just as the players take the field. "When in Rome, et cetera."

"I'm sure we have better things we can do with our time," Natasha points out, before receiving a poisonous look from the man to her left. Apparently nothing in life in more important that this according to him.

"I have found you," Clint says patiently, "a needlessly violent, completely legal sport full of fit, well muscled men and you're complaining?"

Natasha rolls her eyes, not willing to admit that her interest is piqued. "Fine. Who are we supporting then?"

"I'm fairly sure if we don't support New Zealand, the guy next to you with gut you with his hands."

Natasha gives the man next to him a cool, assessing look which, she is pleased to note, makes him shrink back in his seat slightly.

"Well, he could try."

"Ha," Clint says as the anthems start. "Puns. I like it."

FIC: A Brief History of Nauru
"This is one of the most depressing assignments we've been on in a while," Clint says, staring morosely out over the sparkling blue Pacific Ocean.

"We've dealt with child traffickers and war lords," Natasha points out.

"And I'm not saying they're not bad," Clint replies, "but..."

"But what?"

Clint looks around him. "This place had one export, " he says after a while. "One export and the West stripped it all out, then used this place as somewhere to funnel dirty money through. And then when it was no longer convenient for us to do so, we turned around and blamed them for taking one of the few opportunities it could. Now it's just a hole in the ground surrounded by a thin strip of poverty and some Australian detention centres all soon to be swallowed by rising seas."

Clint digs his fingers into the soft white sand. "Do you... do you ever wonder if really, we're the bad guys?"

'You're fucking joking.'

Natasha laughs. 'It's not that bad, we could have been in Greenland. It's winter there.'

'Nat, the whole week is going to be above 104 degrees. It's February. Isn't summer supposed to be nearly over?'

Never underestimate a Melbourne summer...

Fuck cobblestones. That's really all Clint ever wants to say about Geneva, or Switzerland, about this op or why he had to be wearing heels in the first place, ever again. But he can tell, as he's falling face-first into the bed for some seriously well-earned rest, just by the way the light's dancing in Nat's eyes and the way her laugh is rolling out of her completely unrestrained to the point where he's starting to feel the corners of his mouth twitch up to smile with her, that Geneva's gonna end up as one of those missions she's going to hear all about without her hardly even asking him a thing.

"Big Ben, Parliament," Clint grumbles through the comm, "All this guy does is go from one end of the city to the other, over and over."

"Stop complaining," Natasha replies. "At least you're up in the fresh air and not stuck down here in the cold wet with bus fumes."

"Aw, but you look cute with your nose all pink," he chuckles, as she mutters a curse at him in Russian

They're marching through the Brandenburger Tor with ice cream cones in their hands, because that's what you do when you've got downtime in Berlin in the summer, and Natasha notices Clint looking around, wide-eyed, glancing at passersby. She doesn't see any particular reason for this, and thus decides to investigate.

"What's so fascinating?" she asks, and he turns as he walks, licking his a stray drop of melted ice cream off lips.

"Hm?"

"You're staring like you've never gotten out of the country before," Natasha says, because really, he's usually not so... touristy. "Why?"

"Oh." He takes another lick off his cone. "I thought more people would be wearing Lederhosen, is all."

Natasha doesn't quite trust her ears. Sure, it's the first time they've been to Germany together, they'll be here for maybe twelve hours total and he's not the kind to read up about any destination beyond what's required for the mission parameters, but, seriously. "That's because we're in Berlin, not Munich. Every German outside of Bavaria wouldn't be caught dead in Lederhosen."

He glances after another group of non-leather clad locals and shrugs, but does have the good sense to look at least a little embarrassed. "Ah. Okay."

He starts walking again, effectively ending the conversation, and she doesn't see any reason to rub it in. Not yet. She's got a different plan.

***

Later, at the airport, as they're waiting for their flight back home, Natasha excuses herself under the guise of getting them a cup of coffee. She detours to a small book store and, alongside with the promised coffee, hands him a plastic bag full of books. Travel guides, to be exact.

Clint peeks into the bag and groans. "Nat. Really?"

"Really," she says, sitting own beside him, legs crossed, and takes a sip from her own cup. "It's gonna be a long flight, and you've got some catching up to do."

This is short and kinda dumb, but it had to be said. :P
