Welcome to one of the most eagerly-anticipated events on the [livejournal.com profile] be_compromised calendar! It’s time for THE EPIC SUMMER PROMPTATHON!!!

Just before we get started we do have some info and rules we’d like you to read…

HOW PROMTATHON 2016 WORKS

Step One: leave prompts

Prompts can be anything – simple or elaborate, words or pictures, songs or poems, lyrics or phrases, anything that inspires a fanwork. Use your imagination. Go wild! All we ask is that you place anything NSFW behind a cut or link, use warnings where appropriate, and spoiler-cut anything spoiler-ish.

The focus of prompts should be Natasha and/or Clint, individually or as friends, lovers, spouses, partners, in gen fic, ANYTHNG. That means we do welcome other characters and pairings (and threesomes or moresomes) as long as Clint and/or Natasha is there somewhere. See here for more info, and always feel free to ask a mod if you have any questions – there’s even a handy questions thread at the top of the promptathon below.

Leave as many prompts as you want. We’re serious. Keep coming back. We want as many prompts as we can possibly get. Just make sure each prompt is in a separate comment.

Step two: squee

Been wanting to jump into the fandom but not sure where to start? Now’s the time. Newbie or a lurker? Here’s the perfect opportunity to say hello! Promptathon is a fun, no-pressure environment. If all you want to do is post prompts and share in the squee, you’re more than welcome! And by squee we mean chatting in the chat thread, replying to prompts to chat about prompts, and just lots of excitement all over the place.

Step three: submit fanworks like there’s no tomorrow

The usual Community Rules apply. There’s no length requirement on fanworks submitted. You can write drabbles or epics, vids, art, fanmixes, anything at all; it’s just all about getting creative! You can fill as many prompts as you want, and prompts can be filled multiple times by whoever wants to fill them.

HOW TO POST

1. Respond in a comment to the prompt you are filling. Try and post the entire work in the comment (if it's short enough), or if not, post a link. Do not post works to the comm. We’re all about one-stop shopping, so try and post in the main promptathon post if the length allows. If it is too long to post in the promptathon post, consider posting the first section as a teaser and then a link (because that's always fun too.)

2. Label your submission in the subject line with FILL, the type of fanwork, your title, and any warnings. Example: FILL fic: 5 Times Clint and Natasha Were Awesome (PG) When filling in the subject line, you may need to view the comm in it's original style (if you don't already). Just make sure you can see a subject line when responding with your submission.

3. Be sure to leave ratings and warnings (if any) in the subject line. (See example above.) Help us out and make sure folks know what they're clicking on. Thoughtfulness = LOVE. If the ratings or the warnings won't fit in the subject line, just leave them at the top of your post. If you don't want to include warnings, please put 'I choose not to warn' in the subject line, or again at the top of the post if it doesn't fit.

4. Please put anything NSFW under a cut or link. Put any spoilers under a cut or link with an appropriate warning.

TIMELINE

TODAY: Prompting starts!
SUNDAY 7th AUGUST: wait for it, wait for it, look out for the announcement and the masterlist/fills post… FILLS ARE OPEN
SUNDAY 14th AUGUST: Prompts close (yes, prompts and fills will overlap for a bit) PROMPTS ARE CLOSED
SUNDAY 4th SEPTEMBER: Promptathon ends - alas, promptathon is now over for another year.

THERE IS NOW A MASTERLIST AVAILABLE. Comment to the Masterlist post to have your works added. That way we can try and keep track of everything :)

FIC FILL: Madraí Cogaidh (PG)
The Eastern kingdom under Regent Obadiah Stane had been at war for many years with the kingdom of Queen Melinda May to the west. Few areas along the border escaped the ravages of the pillaging armies. Famine was close to reality as the farmers, cattle and sheep herds had their crops and animals confiscated to feed the armies, and the royalty that profited from the conflict.

The First Minister of the Sorcerer’s Guild, Nicholas Fury, rested his chin on steepled fingers as he listened to the reports from the heads of his territorial Guilds. The news ranged from bad to worse, with each Territorial Guild Minister demanding to know how their ruling council was going to stop the atrocities of this war. After the final report was given, he looked around the chamber at his ruling council.

“I think it’s time to once again entertain the Madraí Cogaidh (Dogs of War) initiative.” Fury stated.

His announcement was met with frowns from around the table.

“I was under the impression that plan was laid aside as having a low probability of succeeding.” Doctor Strange spoke their thoughts.

“It did until at the turn of the new year, my second was approached by Virginia Potts, Seer to the Stark Kingdom.”

“No one has seen her since young Anthony exiled himself to the Isle of Malibu to escape Obadiah Stane’s attempts on his life after his parent’s death.” The Ancient One was thoughtful as she looked around the table.

The members turned to look at Phil Coulson, Fury’s second on the Council.

“Seer Potts told me of events she had seen as she divined on the coming year for Prince Anthony. She saw Obadiah sending his agents to kill the Prince until he either succeeds, or is stopped. While Stane commands the Stark Kingdom armies, he does not command the people while Prince Anthony lives. She described what she called Madraí Cogaidh, as the agents of change in the tide of the war. Also, the Prince sent with her a Memory Stone”

Coulson paused to trade a look with Fury.

“Those loyal to the Stark family have been collecting proof of Stane’s nefarious dealings. We sent Journeyman Maria Hill to escort Seer Potts safely back to the Isle of Malibu. We sent Master Steven Rogers to the Western kingdom of Queen May to apprise her of the situation with Stane. Queen May has spent the war in defense of her borders without going on the offense against her eastern neighbors.”

Growing impatient, Strange cut off Coulson’s recitation.

“This is all well and good. Could we get on to the part about Madraí Cogaidh.”

At his tone, Fury stood allowing his second to escape the Sorcerer Supreme’s attention.

“I tasked Maria to inform me should Seer Potts visions change from what she reported. I approached the Spies and Assassins Guild to find the individuals we would need to complete the Madraí Cogaidh ritual. They provided us three fringe members that apparently are too independent in their thinking to work within the Guild system. With the help of Wanda and Phil, we have been working the preliminary spells.”

“Now you need Steven, The Ancient, and myself to join you for the Grande Finale.” Clea stated.

“That is correct.”

“We should not help on the principle of you engaging in these rituals without our knowledge and approval, but it would cruel to your three ‘volunteers’ to leave them in the limbo of an incomplete ritual.” The Ancient One scolded.

“Better to ask forgiveness than permission.” Wanda shrugged.

“You are very cavalier with the lives of others.” Clea frowned.

Wanda started to raise to the bait until Phil laid a calming hand on her shoulder.

“We can finish the ritual without you, but it will much more effective with your help.” Nick shrugged.

It was Strange’s turn to show a bit of temper until The Ancient came between the Sorcerers.

“For the sake of the mundanes you have employed in your scheme we will help you, but be forewarned we will not be so forgiving in the future.”

Nick bowed his head in acknowledgement.

“We are prepared to commence tomorrow at the peak of the full moon.”
