ATT...Tuesday? HAPPY HALLOWEEN!!!
Happy Halloween folks! It's the spoooooky time of year again, and that means IT'S TIME FOR OUR ANNUAL HALLOWEEN COMMENT PARTY!

Being All Hallow's Eve, we will naturally be trick or treating.

How does that work, I hear you ask? Well, let us show you...

- If you want to give out treats reply to this post with "MY DOOR IS OPEN"

- Members of the bar will then reply with "treat" for something sweet or fluffy, "trick" for something spooky or with dark edges, or of course "trick or treat"!

- You will then hand out your tricks and treats. These can be anything you want: comment fic, three sentence fics, picspam, recs, a compliment, a sneak peak of something you're already working on, icons, gifs, anything, ALL THE THINGS, whatever strikes your fancy. You're welcome to ask for prompts or other specifics from your trick-or-treaters.

- There is no deadline for providing tricks and treats. You're welcome to put a limit on how many things you're willing/able to fill.

- Come one, come all!

Hi! I've been working on a Clint and Deadpool fic tonight, because it's almost finished (!!!) so have a few snippets from that. Happy Day After Halloween!

Of course Deadpool steals Clint’s phone to call a taxi. Even though it's a well known, documented on social media fact that Deadpool has his own damn phone. The X Men have even been known to track him down using the location tag on the selfies he posts on Facebook. When they get the urge to lecture him on the error of his ways. Or when he captions a photo of an exploding building with ‘SOS SEND IN THE CLOWNS’. That kind of thing.

“Uh-oh, you got missed calls here.”

Clint tries to grab the phone off him, but he switches it to his other hand and lifts it up over his head. Clint doesn't have the energy or the coordination to deal with this right now.

“Your contacts are all just numbers, ugh, why?”

“So when people steal my phone there’s a limit to what information they can get from it. Obviously.”

...

“I’m so sorry, Mr Pool,” the driver replies as Deadpool takes shotgun. “There was a traffic accident. And jail.”

“It happens,” Deadpool says.

He looks back over his shoulder at Clint, who assures him, “I don't want to know.”

“They even kept your bag as evidence,” Dorpinda says sadly.

“The kitty snatchers,” Deadpool says as they drive off and, really, Clint doesn’t want to know.

“And now the traffic is very bad. The aliens and the Avengers, they left the city a mess and who is going to pay for it all, I ask you?” He sighs. “They only just finished repairing all of the roads from the last time.”

Clint shifts uncomfortably in his seat and bends his head over his phone, concentrating on texting Natasha. On my way earns him a :) in response. She maintains that her using emojis is a good cover, because it’s out of character. Clint maintains that it’s perfectly in character, because the Black Widow is a troll.

...TBC

AND YOUR BOOK REC: Norse Mythology by Neil Gaiman. If you enjoy the new Thor Ragnarok film (spoiler: it's hilarious!) and you want some more Norse gods in your life you can't go wrong with this great retelling of the myths from Gaiman. Cleverly done and amusing.

okay, a) I'm looking forward to reading the rest of this! The two of them together sounds like a weird match, but one that makes weird sense. b) Dorpinda, Mr. Pool, and the construction woes :)

c) I am really happy to hear the book is good! It's been on my wishlist since...just before it came out?--yeah, I tried to buy it and it was that depressing bleached-out pre-sale button. I'm also glad the movie is as funny as I thought it looked--I avoided all footage of it (it wasn't so much a principle thing as I just kept missing commercials and then figured hey, lets be surprised) until earlier today, and now I'm way more enthusiastic about it than anyone around me.

The Hawkeye vs Deadpool sold the two of them as friends to me :) And those damn superheroes, right? *grins*

It is! I love Neil Gaiman anyway, but Loki is delightfully tricky and you empathise with him despite his faults and Thor may be bumbling at times but he's also very much a warrior and dangerous, and just, yes, it's good! Thor Ragnarok is the funniest MCU film for me to date. I laughed so much the first time through that I had to go back to catch the bits I'd missed whilst I'd been laughing! You're gonna love it :D Eh, sod 'em, be enthusiastic. I'm currently part of a twitter DM thread started for a gaggle of excited Brits and every time someone new is added we all start re-quoting all of our favourite bits and squee-ing all over again.

This is the only thing with Deadpool in that I have as WIP, warning you now :p I'm not sure i've hit the right tone for him all the way through, but I rewatched the film and had a go.
