GUYS GUYS IT’S TIME FOR THE SUMMER PROMPTATHON.

Can you believe this is our tenth summer promptathon??? Nope! Me neither!

 

TIMELINE

TODAY: Prompting starts! GO, GO, GO

SUNDAY 8th AUGUST: We open for fills! (You can also continue prompting)

MIDNIGHT SUNDAY 26th SEPTEMBER: Promptathon, both prompts and fills, ends at midnight in whatever your timezone is. THE PROMPTATHON IS NOW CLOSED

HOW PROMPTATHON 2021 WORKS

> Step One: Leave Prompts

Prompts can be anything – simple or elaborate, words or pictures, songs or poems, lyrics or phrases, anything that inspires a fanwork. Use your imagination. Go wild!

We welcome ALL THINGS MARVEL, though we ask that Clint and/or Natasha turn up in there somewhere, individually or as friends, lovers, spouses, partners, in gen fic, ANYTHING. That means we do welcome other characters and pairings (and threesomes or moresomes).

Leave as many prompts as you want. We’re serious. Keep coming back. We want as many prompts as we can possibly get. Just make sure each prompt is in a separate comment.

Also please warn if your prompts contain spoilers/speculation relating to Black Widow 2021 and/or Hawkeye TV.

> Step Two: Squee

Been wanting to jump into the fandom but not sure where to start? Now’s the time. Newbie or a lurker? Here’s the perfect opportunity to say hello! Promptathon is a fun, no-pressure environment. If all you want to do is post prompts and share in the squee, you’re more than welcome! And by squee we mean chatting in the chat thread, replying to prompts to chat about prompts, and just lots of excitement all over the place.

For additional squee, there is also the be_compromised Discord Server, where you can chat about Promptathon (or anything else) in a more chatroom-style place. Click here for an invite.

> Step Three: submit fanworks like there’s no tomorrow!

The usual Community Rules apply. There’s no length requirement on fanworks submitted. You can create drabbles or epics, vids, art, fanmixes, anything at all; it’s just all about getting creative! You can fill as many prompts as you want, and prompts can be filled multiple times by whoever wants to fill them.

Please warn if your fills contain spoilers/speculation relating to Black Widow 2021 and/or Hawkeye TV.


HOW TO POST FILLS

  1. Respond in a comment to the prompt you are filling. Please post the entire work in the comment if it's short enough OR post a link, and consider posting the first section as a teaser. Please don't post works directly to the comm - we’re all about one-stop shopping, so keep everything in this main promptathon post. We'll do a masterlist of fills at the end.
  2. Label your fill/comment in the subject line with 'FILL', your title, and a rating. Example: FILL: 5 Times Clint and Natasha Were Awesome (PG). When filling in the subject line, you may need to view the comm in its original style (if you don't already). Just make sure you can see a subject line when responding with your submission. This makes it A LOT easier for us to make that masterlist and for people to spot your fills.
  3. Make sure to include a rating and warnings OR 'choose not to warn' at the start of your fill, as per the comm rules. Help us out and make sure folks know what they're clicking on :)
  4. Please put anything NSFW behind a cut or link.
  5. And once again, because this is a thing we can now say (!); please warn for Black Widow 2021 film spoilers and for Hawkeye TV spoilers! Not everyone has Disney+/can get to the cinema.

Natasha is the one who kisses him first, rising up on her toes and leaning in to press her lips against Clint’s for a brief, satisfying moment.

She has, of course, noticed the layers that Clint wears. How most of the time he’s fully covered, except for his face and the few fingers exposed by archery gloves. Natasha is usually the same; her SHIELD uniform may be form-fitting but it covers every inch of skin. She's noticed as well how Clint steers away from physical contact; always easy to be around and quick to smile, but he keeps his hands to himself.

Not around her. Around her, Clint has gradually been letting his guard down. Wearing short sleeves during a training session and, after, playfully nudging his clothed shoulder against hers. Wearing a shirt with no sleeves when dancing undercover in a club and asking with a tilt of his head before his hands come to rest on her hips. Emerging from the safehouse bathroom in nothing but a towel, so she can take her turn faster without waiting for him to dress, and tugging playfully on her filthy hair as he walks past.

She's found herself doing the same; slowly baring her skin and soul in return and trusting that he won’t touch unless invited, won’t take what hasn't been offered.

She's also noticed the way that he’s started watching her.

She watches him back.

She watches when she leans in to kiss him for that first time; the way his eyes fix on hers, how his lips part, the hitch in his breathing, and the flush of his cheeks. For all he waits for her to make the first move, when she makes it the answer is clearly yes.

The next day it’s easy still between them. When she lounges next to him on his couch, take-out containers scattered across the coffee table, he doesn’t take more of her space than she’s previously offered, and when she kisses him again he smiles and doesn’t push for more.

It takes her three weeks to notice the thin scar that used to slice through the corner of her mouth has faded to nothing. It’s such a small thing – nothing like the violations of the Red Room, probably a side effect of some post-injury medication or time – that she thinks nothing of it.



Natasha peels down the top half of her uniform in the first stage of the decontamination unit. She’s one of a handful of Agents stripping off and none of them look at each other, except for Clint watching from where he hovers in the entrance with a strange expression on his face that she can’t place.

“Get a move on, Barton,” she tells him, but he doesn’t.

“Hey, you know Touched are supposed to use the single stalls,” Rumlow says, frowning at Clint as he walks around him, giving him a wide berth. “Get out of here, Barton.”

With a last glance at her, Clint leaves.
