3 Sentence Fics Challenge

Hi All, it's almost time for our annual summer promptathon at the end of July. As a warm up, we're bringing back an old favourite: a 3 Sentence Fics Challenge!

How to play:

1) Leave a (short) prompt in a comment. You can leave as many prompts as you like, but please put each prompt in a seperate comment.

2) Reply to prompts with three sentence fics. Grammar can be suspect, but fills must be ONLY THREE sentences long! You can fill to as many prompts as you like and prompts can have multiple fills. You can even fill your own prompts, or post a fill as a continuation of other people's fills. The more writing the better!

3) Prompts and fills both end midnight (whatever your timezone) Sunday 24 July.

Things to note:

> Prompts and fills can include any Marvel characters.

> Please add a warning at the top of your prompt and/or fill if it contains spoilers/speculation relating to any Marvel films/tv shows released in the last six months including Hawkeye TV.

> Please include a rating and warnings (OR 'choose not to warn') at the start of any fllls. Please label NSFW (Not Safe For Work) in the subject line / at the start and post under a cut.

FILL: Heatwave

"I hope there aren't any leeches or other nasty critters in this lake," Clint says as he strips off his tac suit and hurls himself into the cool, but not entirely unmurky waters.

He surfaces a few minutes later, a big smile on his face and decidedly more refreshed-looking than at any time over the endless week they'd spent in the brutally humid heat of the Colombian jungle.

"C'mon in," he motions to Natasha (who is still thinking about it), "and just for the record, you get much cooler when you take everything off."

And the final one...

It takes longer than Natasha'd like for them to get a shower and a change of clothes (seriously, did SHIELD really have to run the whole decontamination routine when they were still on earth with known carbon-based creatures the whole darn time, even if they were from a few million years ago?) but its worth it when they finally get released and she can pull on a softly worn t-shirt of Clint's over her freshly scrubbed body.

Clint's waiting in the bedroom for her and she tucks herself up under his arm and snuggles into his chest, warm and comfortable and so tired that she can barely keep her eyes open.

"As crazy as today was, there's no one I'd rather handle dinos and mysterious portals with," she murmurs, finally giving in to the urge to closes her eyes as Clint rumbles his agreement and pulls her even closer to him.

Doubling down, baby! *g*
(now numbered for your convenience)

It's a routine assignment - well, as routine an assignment as it gets for the Avengers lately, what with alien invasions and murderous robots and mysterious sex pollen - but routine enough.

A portal has appeared in midtown and they need to figure out how to keep whatever's on the other side of the portal out of New York and how to close the mystical doorway while they're at it.

Clint dares to say out loud that it will be easy-peasy (Natasha warns him that's a huge mistake, but does he listen?) and sure enough, as soon as he says it, Stark and Strange start fighting about the best way to do what they need to and everything goes to hell and pretty soon they're not in modern day New York anymore; they're stranded in the Jurassic era.

I can't help it, I'm on a roll. *g*

The stegosaurus pauses and Clint doesn't know much at all about dino behavior but he's certainly seen his fair share of dogs and cats and other animals and if he isn't mistaken Natasha's new best friend is about to --

Natasha looks at him, clearly thinking the same thing, and they both turn on their heels and run as fast as they can, but nothing can stop the stench that wafts after them.

It isn't until they stop running and take shelter in the underbrush by some giant pine-like tree that Clint dares say, "Well, I guess this little jaunt has gone to shit for both of us, hasn't it?"
