I've watched it numerous times now and if anything it get's funnier each time I watch it. It looks like it is trying to be five different movies at once and doing none successfully.

Huh, a wee bit more steampunk than I was expecting. I'll still go see it, because not only does it star Herr Renner, but I <3 Famke Jannsen, especially when she's chewing up the scenery.

I like Famke Jannsen too on top of Renner so I will probably see it as well, if nothing else out of pure curiosity.

I will make icons, and drool over Renner, but I refuse to watch this movie ruin my childhood. Renner can have whatever he wants, but God... not this!!!!!

I'm at work so I watched it with the sound off. Jeremy looks utterly divine and completely edible. However:
1) The makeup is Really Bad. I mean, O. M. G.
2) Guns? Really? Let's keep it period but make the some machine guns because that would be kick-ass for the Dark Ages.
3) Did I mention the makeup?

Having said a;; that, it reminded me of Hocus Pocus. But again, I watched it with the sound off and only focused on Jeremy and the fact they did everything they could to hide his laughter lines. He's entirely edible, and I don't blame that witch at all for wanting to eat him.

The only thing I can't get over with are how their names are pronounced though (but that's just me because I'm German ;)). Makes me giggle every time she introduces him. xD

I think the action sequences look cool and I will probably see it because of that. Sound off, the movie looks visually kind of cool. But, the plot and the dialogue just seems forced.

It could be some cheesy fun, but I don't think it will be anything more than that....

I completely agree. I'm going into the movie with low expectations and to enjoy some pretty shots of Renner, that's about it.

Eh, I think it could be fun. It looks a lot like Van Helsing meets Brothers Grimm. I enjoy a stupid action movie with steampunk touches.

I mean, Renner has been doing some pretty epic movies lately: Avengers, MI Ghost Protocol (come on, Agent Brandt was ADORABLE), Bourne Legacy, before all that the Hurt Locker, and before that many epic characters that I'm still finding out (lol) and then this.

Not gonna lie I'm easily pleased when it comes to movies so my 'criticism' is basically useless but meeeh. Yeah fairy tales are getting butchered and all, also I agree with a post that said.. THE. MAKEUP! What is up with that? I think that is going to make the movie painful but the rest looks kinda of fun. But... I can't get over HANSEL. In a child storybook it sounds like a cool, nice name, hearing it out loud, at a grown man, as hot as Renner... It made me burst out laughing. Come on it was funny! HANSEEEEEEL! XD

Oh and I agree... this needs Icons, cause Renner with any kind of weapon is hot and the weapons, at least, looks WICKED! XP

I think it looks fun too. I also love terrible movies almost as much as good ones, so I'm pretty sure I will enjoy it either way, even if it's just for the absurdity (and the Renner, of course.)

5. I'm kind of obsessed with fairy tales of all kinds. I often find odd versions of them to direct as plays. I've done several units in which sixth graders mangle classic fairy tales into pantomime performances (and no, I'm not making that up.) So I'm more than okay with Hansel & Gretel growing up to kick some witch tushy.

THE MAKE-UP?!?!?! SERIOUSLY?!?!?! Riiiiiiight. I mean, that was just...that was... Oh, come on, that is some stupid-ass make-up. It absolutely and totally pulled me out of the moment, folks. Which is too bad, actually, b/c I have an extremely high tolerance for cheese. And Jeremy Renner is in it. With guns (which yes, did seem quite anachronistic, but I'm going with the steampunk theory - yeah, there was a lot of steampunk at Dragon*Con. Like, seriously. A LOT.)

*rolls eyes* See, I have to give this movie the benefit of the doubt b/c it was due to their trip to this movie's set that the producers of The Bourne Legacy decided that Jeremy Renner was indeed NOT too old to play Aaron Cross. So, um, apparently the guy was pretty bad-ass on the set. Because his performance on it got him the hottie-patottie job.

Clearly the producers did not come on a day that the witches were on set.

By the way, I showed this to my roommate and she thinks it looks like cheesy great fun, so we're both looking forward to seeing it b/c we like cheesy great fun action movies. That being said, she quickly pointed out that people out there who 'ship incest are ALL going to be writing fic b/w our two sweet little title characters because they look WAY co-dependent. I have to say that she is QUITE correct.
