ATTF: friending time.
Greetings, best bar on earth!!  Man I have missed this place. This time of year is always so crazy-busy, and there's always so much to get done that it seems to fly by in a kind of haze (I know I've pretty much been doing my own zombie walk just trying to make it through, and a huge shoutout to Bob for some much needed fic therapy; it's totally keeping my ass sane right now.)

But how goes it, y'all? [livejournal.com profile] shenshen77and I were talking the other day and she had mentioned that we hadn't had a good old-fashioned friending meme in a while, and I thought that sounded like a dandy idea. I also think we need a good impromptu dance party and a chance to chat and hang out with old friends and make new ones and just be our awesome selves.

So please come by and introduce yourself. Say a few words about how you found this place or this ship and what your interests are. Check out other people's comments. Feel free to stalk them (in a non-creepy and completely respectful way) and comment crash-- hell, this place was built on comment-crashing (you think I'm kidding but I'm not.) There is no form to fill out becuase I'm allergic to forms. Free jazz all the way, bb. ;)

ETA on the introductions: no need to go into detail on the personal stuff. share as much as you feel comfortable with. i always like being a little cautious on that front, this being the internets and all. <3

Pics, gifs, randomness, chitchat, melarkly, and general bedlam are always encouraged. I've missed you guys. <3

ALSO-- I'm posting a sign-up sheet in the comments for future ATTF posts. We have had some amazing guest hosts and I thank each and every one of you. Y'all are constantly raising the level of discourse (and squee) around here and it's awesome. So for anyone thinking about signing up-- don't be a stranger, m'kay?

Star Trek. Definitely Star Trek. Although I have seen the first SW movie 17 times (I think -- I can quote the dialogue) and we have annual LOTR marathons at my house over Christmas.

Our house contains, at last inspection, a bat'leth, a Borg costume with functioning lights (kid Hallowe'en costume), a Firebolt (all three made by my husband), a model of Voyager, and The True Ring (dangling from the wall-mounted TV). There's a "Ships of the Line" calendar on the wall in my Very Grown Up Office, soon to be replaced by an Avengers poster 'coz, you know, my new job deals with "security threat reduction."

My name is Alpha Flyer (OK, not really, shrug), and I am a geek. :-)

Trek is awesome. I used to have a Janeway uniform that I wore for Halloween and to conventions. I have DS9 action figures. I have a bunch of the books.

I'm a total geek too. The wall of my apartment is completely covered with fandom-related posters.

Oh, I forget -- I also have a Hawkeye action figures (complete with fire escape -- yay!!! it features in two of my stories ...), two Tom Parises (one mutated, the other not), and two Andorians. All on the mantle piece, as they should be.

I really need more action figures. Mostly I collect fandom-related board games.

My friends are shameless enablers when it comes to action figures. The problem with the Hawkeye one is that the box had SUCH a fab picture on it that I couldn't bring myself to throw it out. It's still cluttering up my house somewhere ...

Oh, and the Andorians are because of a story I wrote, called "The Andorian Incident." Just in case you were wondering! ;-)

Andorians are awesome, no explanation necessary. :)

I guess I just have expensive taste. I tend to save my money and then buy a board game, which can be pretty pricy. I just invested in Doctor Who monopoly (my 7th fandom-related monopoly), which I'm super excited about.

Hon, I own some action figures myself, all of the graphic novel that my username originated from, so probably no one here will know them, but action figures rock :D
