ATTF: friending time.
Greetings, best bar on earth!!  Man I have missed this place. This time of year is always so crazy-busy, and there's always so much to get done that it seems to fly by in a kind of haze (I know I've pretty much been doing my own zombie walk just trying to make it through, and a huge shoutout to Bob for some much needed fic therapy; it's totally keeping my ass sane right now.)

But how goes it, y'all? [livejournal.com profile] shenshen77and I were talking the other day and she had mentioned that we hadn't had a good old-fashioned friending meme in a while, and I thought that sounded like a dandy idea. I also think we need a good impromptu dance party and a chance to chat and hang out with old friends and make new ones and just be our awesome selves.

So please come by and introduce yourself. Say a few words about how you found this place or this ship and what your interests are. Check out other people's comments. Feel free to stalk them (in a non-creepy and completely respectful way) and comment crash-- hell, this place was built on comment-crashing (you think I'm kidding but I'm not.) There is no form to fill out becuase I'm allergic to forms. Free jazz all the way, bb. ;)

ETA on the introductions: no need to go into detail on the personal stuff. share as much as you feel comfortable with. i always like being a little cautious on that front, this being the internets and all. <3

Pics, gifs, randomness, chitchat, melarkly, and general bedlam are always encouraged. I've missed you guys. <3

ALSO-- I'm posting a sign-up sheet in the comments for future ATTF posts. We have had some amazing guest hosts and I thank each and every one of you. Y'all are constantly raising the level of discourse (and squee) around here and it's awesome. So for anyone thinking about signing up-- don't be a stranger, m'kay?

Re: Here goes introduction!
Me too! It's a wonderful shot and she looks so.... earthy and real and she's not just skin - on - bones, which is so wonderful to see. I am tired of superskinny celebs. (also, both of them aren't "perfect" in the looks department, but they're both gorgeous, which is just another reason why I adore them)

Re: Here goes introduction!
I admit, I'm kinda fascinated by his hands in that shot of the hug. And that grin! *melts*

Re: Here goes introduction!
Same here! Huge hands, really interesting contrast to her, too. And I like how.... soft she looks. And of course it's giving me fic ideas, because visual things = inspiration. In a non creepy way, mind you.

Re: Here goes introduction!
And it looks like a REAL hug, you can tell there's some pressure (I guess that's the right word?) in his hold, by the way his hand looks against her back. And you can just imagine his left hand sliding lower.

Yay for fic ideas!!!

Re: Here goes introduction!
Let me slide into my Cal Lightman mode here. It's not merely a politeness hug because you need to feel comfortable to put bare hands on someone's bare back and squeeze. There's pressure but it looks like light pressure, which says consideration. It's a formal occasion after all. The left hand is low already, which is also indicating they're both comfortable with that, but notice how his left hand isn't putting pressure on her at all. It really looks like a compromise between a squishy hug and a red carpet hug that gazillion people are going to see. Also, his smile is real, not fake. I suppose her hands are sort of trapped between them and I'm not sure what to make of it, since I can't see her face, but going by her posture and shoulders, I think she's feeling comfortable as well.

Re: Here goes introduction!
You just see her left thumb past his right arm, so she's gripping him back, at least one-armed. I'd love to see this from the other side, to see her face. I totally agree with your assessment!

Re: Here goes introduction!
Oh yeah, you're right, I can see her thumb now. That's a squishy hug. I could dust off my body language reading skills when it comes to hugs, but I'm pretty sure you don't hug everyone from under their arms. It looks very affectionate.

Thank you -I am trained to interpret these things after all!
