ATTF: friending time.
Greetings, best bar on earth!!  Man I have missed this place. This time of year is always so crazy-busy, and there's always so much to get done that it seems to fly by in a kind of haze (I know I've pretty much been doing my own zombie walk just trying to make it through, and a huge shoutout to Bob for some much needed fic therapy; it's totally keeping my ass sane right now.)

But how goes it, y'all? [livejournal.com profile] shenshen77and I were talking the other day and she had mentioned that we hadn't had a good old-fashioned friending meme in a while, and I thought that sounded like a dandy idea. I also think we need a good impromptu dance party and a chance to chat and hang out with old friends and make new ones and just be our awesome selves.

So please come by and introduce yourself. Say a few words about how you found this place or this ship and what your interests are. Check out other people's comments. Feel free to stalk them (in a non-creepy and completely respectful way) and comment crash-- hell, this place was built on comment-crashing (you think I'm kidding but I'm not.) There is no form to fill out becuase I'm allergic to forms. Free jazz all the way, bb. ;)

ETA on the introductions: no need to go into detail on the personal stuff. share as much as you feel comfortable with. i always like being a little cautious on that front, this being the internets and all. <3

Pics, gifs, randomness, chitchat, melarkly, and general bedlam are always encouraged. I've missed you guys. <3

ALSO-- I'm posting a sign-up sheet in the comments for future ATTF posts. We have had some amazing guest hosts and I thank each and every one of you. Y'all are constantly raising the level of discourse (and squee) around here and it's awesome. So for anyone thinking about signing up-- don't be a stranger, m'kay?

You seem like someone I need to chat more with ... Renner-fever and Clintasha and ... yeah ... yeah. *gives you a hug*

I... can't even explain the Renner thing. I mean, I've been around fandom for *decades* and have had favorites before, but yow, somewhere in the first flush of the MI4 kink meme, my brain just went into lockdown mode.

And I will happily blame the whole Clintasha thing on Joss, because while I didn't dislike Black Widow in IM2, she was so fabulous in Avengers that there almost isn't a comparison.

So, yeah, hi! Someday I will finish the actual Clint/Natasha and maybe that will break the spell?

Oh I know what you mean. I've been in/around online-based fandom craziness for about ten years now (uh, anniversary!) now but ... Renner? And the thing was, I felt it coming, and I FOUGHT IT. Simply because I just didn't have the TIME for what I KNEW was coming ...

So since I saw Ghost Protocol (on DVD though, never made it to the cinema), I've fangirled myself into every film he was in, but shut it down the MOMENT I left the room.

And then I rewatched Avengers about 3 days ago and I just BURST ... it was a bit horrible. In a good way.

And I can't stop now. I mean, it's only been three days of "full on" fangirling, but ... like I said, it's been under the surface a WHILE ... gawd, that MAN!

I know--he definitely gets under your skin! My poor long-suffering betas have yet to be affected by him but have gamely gone through nearly 100,000 words about his characters this year.

Fandom is always full of surprises, yes?

HOW can they still resist the Renner-pull?! :O Have you taken out their hearts and made them helpless drones, so they can stay objective and are more efficient when beta-ing your fic?! ADMIT IT! :O

hah, no, they have all tumbled into hockey RPS, so we exchange visual aids whenever we beta each other's fic these days.

somewhat late reply (got stuck in my outbox ...)
Must check out your Bourne fics. Not a fandom I read (have read a couple of crossovers ...) BUT since I have just pre-ordered the DVD on amazon, I guess it behooves me to start, huh?

And YAY to your finishing the story -- happy to provide motivation/beta service via PM if that would help. (Apart from LJ I'm also on FFN)

Re: somewhat late reply (got stuck in my outbox ...)
No problem on the delay; I ended with a nagging little cold and have been hibernating for days and days.

For a movie that left me somewhat frustrated, I really liked aspects of Bourne Legacy. I wanted so much more about the characters, and not just Aaron and Marta. There are some good post-movie stories out there, ones that do more than PWP like I did (to be fair, my flist made me do it! REALLY, MOM! SWEAR!)

And thank you for the beta offer--I very well might take you up on it, just as someone who I know is waiting to read the next part (and who cares about it, because my poor regular betas are kind of hiding by now, as none of them are in the fandom and I've already hit them with a gazillion words this year.)
