ATTF: friending time.
Greetings, best bar on earth!!  Man I have missed this place. This time of year is always so crazy-busy, and there's always so much to get done that it seems to fly by in a kind of haze (I know I've pretty much been doing my own zombie walk just trying to make it through, and a huge shoutout to Bob for some much needed fic therapy; it's totally keeping my ass sane right now.)

But how goes it, y'all? [livejournal.com profile] shenshen77and I were talking the other day and she had mentioned that we hadn't had a good old-fashioned friending meme in a while, and I thought that sounded like a dandy idea. I also think we need a good impromptu dance party and a chance to chat and hang out with old friends and make new ones and just be our awesome selves.

So please come by and introduce yourself. Say a few words about how you found this place or this ship and what your interests are. Check out other people's comments. Feel free to stalk them (in a non-creepy and completely respectful way) and comment crash-- hell, this place was built on comment-crashing (you think I'm kidding but I'm not.) There is no form to fill out becuase I'm allergic to forms. Free jazz all the way, bb. ;)

ETA on the introductions: no need to go into detail on the personal stuff. share as much as you feel comfortable with. i always like being a little cautious on that front, this being the internets and all. <3

Pics, gifs, randomness, chitchat, melarkly, and general bedlam are always encouraged. I've missed you guys. <3

ALSO-- I'm posting a sign-up sheet in the comments for future ATTF posts. We have had some amazing guest hosts and I thank each and every one of you. Y'all are constantly raising the level of discourse (and squee) around here and it's awesome. So for anyone thinking about signing up-- don't be a stranger, m'kay?

I'll have to see if I can get some pics posted! The bald eagles were gorgeous and pretty awe-inspiring. There's a bald eagle sanctuary on the Virginia side of the Potomac River about an hour or so from where I live and I've seen them in the wild there too (not to rub it in or anything!).

I HIGHLY recommend the San Juan Islands, the "big island" (actually called San Juan Island) has a lot to do -- the main harbor has some great shops and bars, there's a winery on the island, an alpaca farm and some pretty interesting history (a 13 year "pig war"). I'd have liked to have gotten to a couple of the other islands (there's a pottery on Orcas Island) but it just didn't happen. There's lots to see and do in the Seattle area too.

My parents and I really loved the park area around the Arch, it's really nicely maintained compared to some of the national park areas we've been to. I wish we could have explored more while we were there.

OMG -- now I have that image of Clint and Natasha playing leapfrog stuck in my head!

Oooh, you should post those pictures. I'd love a chance to see them. We've got the eagles that come through Alton (which is a local town) and I just remembered I made it out to see them one February many years ago. Good job, Frea. Great memory, there. Hahahaha, but it's still so neat, isn't it?

I think I've read a book or two that took place on Orcas Island, huh. This only redoubles my desire to visit. Thanks!

Also, you're very welcome for the mental image. Bwahahaha, it still trips me up.

I've posted some pics to my journal. That was a learning experience, it was my first time posting pics and using the cut function.
