ATTF: friending time.
Greetings, best bar on earth!!  Man I have missed this place. This time of year is always so crazy-busy, and there's always so much to get done that it seems to fly by in a kind of haze (I know I've pretty much been doing my own zombie walk just trying to make it through, and a huge shoutout to Bob for some much needed fic therapy; it's totally keeping my ass sane right now.)

But how goes it, y'all? [livejournal.com profile] shenshen77and I were talking the other day and she had mentioned that we hadn't had a good old-fashioned friending meme in a while, and I thought that sounded like a dandy idea. I also think we need a good impromptu dance party and a chance to chat and hang out with old friends and make new ones and just be our awesome selves.

So please come by and introduce yourself. Say a few words about how you found this place or this ship and what your interests are. Check out other people's comments. Feel free to stalk them (in a non-creepy and completely respectful way) and comment crash-- hell, this place was built on comment-crashing (you think I'm kidding but I'm not.) There is no form to fill out becuase I'm allergic to forms. Free jazz all the way, bb. ;)

ETA on the introductions: no need to go into detail on the personal stuff. share as much as you feel comfortable with. i always like being a little cautious on that front, this being the internets and all. <3

Pics, gifs, randomness, chitchat, melarkly, and general bedlam are always encouraged. I've missed you guys. <3

ALSO-- I'm posting a sign-up sheet in the comments for future ATTF posts. We have had some amazing guest hosts and I thank each and every one of you. Y'all are constantly raising the level of discourse (and squee) around here and it's awesome. So for anyone thinking about signing up-- don't be a stranger, m'kay?

Hey there!

So - I'm a high school Drama teacher, which is why I'm often late to the party. Case in point: both of my Drama Fundamentals classes performed plays tonight - it was a long freakin' night. But they ROCKED, so all is good. :D (Although I do have to do it again tomorrow, so hmmm...)

After I went to see the Avengers, I immediately went home and started looking for Clint/Natasha webby goodness. For good or ill, what gets me into a fandom is a pairing that captures my imagination. My entry into fandom in general was Veronica Mars and Logan/Veronica. While there are other pairings that I love (Harry/Ginny, Jim/Pam, B'elanna/Tom, Katniss/Peeta to name some of my faves), none has inflamed the senses, so to speak, like Logan and Veronica did until Clint and Natasha came along. Sometimes things just click, you know? And this pair did (and continues to do so) for me. As someone posted above (and I'm sorry I don't remember who it was – I am REALLY tired!), this pairing takes work and fandom does an AWESOME job of showing that. I love it.

It also helps that this fandom is eternally awesome and that this bar fricking ROCKS. I can't tell you how many times it's saved me after a long and harrowing days navigating the halls of a high school in sub/rural Georgia (combination of suburban and rural – it's unique.) :-) I love it here.

Full disclosure: because of my insanely demanding job, I have zero time to check my Friends page. I check this site RELIGIOUSLY b/c what little discretionary time I *do* have I tend to spend here or on AO3. 'Cause reasons. :-) (And yes, I really am that cheerful, hence the over-abundance of smiley emoticons.) :D

So I'm a teacher, a Sunday School teacher (of the 4- and 5-year-olds, no less) :-), a mad 'shipper, a weirdly cheerful person, a hardcore Hufflepuff (hey, we keep the trains running on time!), the oldest of five, and I suck at getting up in the morning. Which, since I have to be at school at 6:45 a.m. (and have for 12 years now), really sucks. But there you have it!

LOVE THIS BAR AND ALL THE FOLKS IN IT!!

Oh WOW! A cheer for getting up at the crack of flipping DAWN every morning! :O And YAY for being a drama teacher - best thing EVER! Uhm ... yeah, just felt like saying hello :D Hope you can enjoy your weekend ;)

I guessed the drama teacher thing from previous comments -- what a great and rewarding job that must be (with the occasional finger-in-the-light-socket moment)! I was aiming to do the teaching thing (English) at some point, but then got sucked into a totally different direction.

As for getting up at flipping dawn, well, here I am, wide awake at 5 am. Been that kind of day yesterday ...

This bar and its patrons -- and writing in general -- has become part of what keeps me sane. I think. Maybe not? How would I know ...? ;-)

Hehe, I know what you mean. It's brilliant to have a place to come to everyday where you can just enjoy your "online" life and breath. I mean, I've only been here a few days, but it just FEELS right and sometimes you just have to go with your gut!

I cheerily predict that you will love it! :-)

Yep, today's show went well, too, although there were definitely some crazy times backstage! It's awesome getting to teach something that the kids tend to enjoy so much, though. I've taught other things before and will again, but I'm definitely enjoying what I'm doing. :)

What's even funnier. Is that I have a unique group of seniors right now who actually read fan fiction. It's pretty funny, we discuss it regularly, although I go to great lengths NOT to let them know my user name. :) I don't post anything inappropriate but I like having a separate part of my life. And I am totally with you on this place keeping me (allegedly) sane!

I do High School for Sunday School and the nursery during church. I always tell people the only one those two groups are the different is that when one of the HS kids asks to go to the bathroom, I don't ask if they need help. Otherwise, just the same. *grins*

How cool that the performances went well! Are they just this weekend? An end of the term thing or a holiday thing?

Oh, how I love LoVe! I've also got a thing for Veronica/Weevil but that is purely for a kink thing and not a long term thing. Were you the one who recced me the super long LoVe "So we meet again after all this time" fic? If it wasn't you and you haven't read it, you need to! YOU NEED TO!

All of this talking about VM makes me want to go buy it so that I have it to watch ALL THE TIME!

Well said on the high school/nursery comparison, especially after the last few days! :-) survived tonight, although I actually started working at noon. It was fun. Just a lot of craziness backstage! This weekend were one acts from my two fundamentals classes. Most of the kids had never been in plays before. Last week my advanced class did Te Crucible, which was one of the best shows I've ever directed. So very different weekends! Not in a bad way - just different!

I actually wrote Meg/weevil into my long LoVe fic, so I love this pairing which hardly anyone writes, which is pretty funny. :-) and what is this story you speak of?? Do tell!!

A Strange New Story Every Time by gyzym on AO3. I really need to learn to link when I'm on my phone!

Oh, Mac! I love her so! And so under utilized!
