ATTF: friending time.
Greetings, best bar on earth!!  Man I have missed this place. This time of year is always so crazy-busy, and there's always so much to get done that it seems to fly by in a kind of haze (I know I've pretty much been doing my own zombie walk just trying to make it through, and a huge shoutout to Bob for some much needed fic therapy; it's totally keeping my ass sane right now.)

But how goes it, y'all? [livejournal.com profile] shenshen77and I were talking the other day and she had mentioned that we hadn't had a good old-fashioned friending meme in a while, and I thought that sounded like a dandy idea. I also think we need a good impromptu dance party and a chance to chat and hang out with old friends and make new ones and just be our awesome selves.

So please come by and introduce yourself. Say a few words about how you found this place or this ship and what your interests are. Check out other people's comments. Feel free to stalk them (in a non-creepy and completely respectful way) and comment crash-- hell, this place was built on comment-crashing (you think I'm kidding but I'm not.) There is no form to fill out becuase I'm allergic to forms. Free jazz all the way, bb. ;)

ETA on the introductions: no need to go into detail on the personal stuff. share as much as you feel comfortable with. i always like being a little cautious on that front, this being the internets and all. <3

Pics, gifs, randomness, chitchat, melarkly, and general bedlam are always encouraged. I've missed you guys. <3

ALSO-- I'm posting a sign-up sheet in the comments for future ATTF posts. We have had some amazing guest hosts and I thank each and every one of you. Y'all are constantly raising the level of discourse (and squee) around here and it's awesome. So for anyone thinking about signing up-- don't be a stranger, m'kay?

OMG another Tolkien fan.

I saw the LoTR marathon at the theater yesterday and OMG!!!!! I mean I own all three DVD's and at least once a year do a marathon at home. But the difference between watching them on a 32" TV screen and on a freaking giant MOVIE SCREEN? With Dolby sound? No contest. And only a little over 4 days to The Hobbit. EEEEEEE. midnight show ticket already bought

*ahem*

I. I can't talk to you now. I don't have a midnight showing ticket because my friend is seeing it for her birthday. So I'm seeing it Friday night. So basically I just have to ignore the whole internet for a day or two. BUT BUT BUT I am going dressed as Hawkeye so it's all good. :D

I once saw a LotR marathon at a small not-quite-cinema in London and it was SO MUCH FUN because of course everyone knows the films so people would got "OH THIS BIT IS REALLY GOOD" and clap and cheer and it was amazing. And only £5!! But I'd love to do it again.

I've also seen all three films accompanied by an orchestra and two choirs. BEST. :D
