ATTF: friending time.
Greetings, best bar on earth!!  Man I have missed this place. This time of year is always so crazy-busy, and there's always so much to get done that it seems to fly by in a kind of haze (I know I've pretty much been doing my own zombie walk just trying to make it through, and a huge shoutout to Bob for some much needed fic therapy; it's totally keeping my ass sane right now.)

But how goes it, y'all? [livejournal.com profile] shenshen77and I were talking the other day and she had mentioned that we hadn't had a good old-fashioned friending meme in a while, and I thought that sounded like a dandy idea. I also think we need a good impromptu dance party and a chance to chat and hang out with old friends and make new ones and just be our awesome selves.

So please come by and introduce yourself. Say a few words about how you found this place or this ship and what your interests are. Check out other people's comments. Feel free to stalk them (in a non-creepy and completely respectful way) and comment crash-- hell, this place was built on comment-crashing (you think I'm kidding but I'm not.) There is no form to fill out becuase I'm allergic to forms. Free jazz all the way, bb. ;)

ETA on the introductions: no need to go into detail on the personal stuff. share as much as you feel comfortable with. i always like being a little cautious on that front, this being the internets and all. <3

Pics, gifs, randomness, chitchat, melarkly, and general bedlam are always encouraged. I've missed you guys. <3

ALSO-- I'm posting a sign-up sheet in the comments for future ATTF posts. We have had some amazing guest hosts and I thank each and every one of you. Y'all are constantly raising the level of discourse (and squee) around here and it's awesome. So for anyone thinking about signing up-- don't be a stranger, m'kay?

Please do not joke about blowing out your knee. I tore my meniscus in my right knee at the end of September don't laugh but I did it getting up from the lounge chair at the beach at Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas. Shifting sands, arthritic knee? Totally blew it out. After two months of PT I am just now getting back to normal and back to the gym.

But yes, revel in your youth. You could be my younger sibling. And help me tease my older sister *eg* She is 53 and has tons of grey hair. I probably have more but have been dying it since I was 18 and found my first one.

I know my user name gets tons of comments mainly because of the book association. It is one of the reasons I've never changed it, even though I've been tempted over the years. It has led to some friendships and tons of interesting conversations.

My sister blew hers out in her last softball game her senior year when she thought about rounding third base to get to home plate but decided not to at the last minute. She failed to tell her knee she was staying put. Fun times.

Gray hairs! I used to color my hair just to be different. The last couple of months, I've decided I need to be one of those people who starts coloring her hair for real! They are starting to spring out EVERYWHERE! Every March, I shave off all my hair to raise money for childhood cancer research and am always amazed at the resulting gray that comes back. It's not the fault of the shaving but of the calendar progression.

The only reason I changed mine (and it wasn't that much different - it used to be larinzia) is because I went cold turkey off the internet for a year and wanted something different when I came back. If your name works for you, you should keep it! I've only read one of the books but they were excellent! And you can never deny something that brings friends into your life!
