ATTF: Hi, my name is ... Joss?
For today's Friday, you have just landed a new job. And not just any job. You've be hired to write the Avengers 2 script.

What storylines do you what to see? What villains? What drama?

...and most importantly (for the residents of this bar), what should happen with Clint and Natasha? Is their long-term existing relationship revealed? (secret marriages anyone?) Do they finally overcome all that buddycop UST and get together? Do we learn more about their past? Is there dramarama?

Tell me!!!  (someone please put me out of my misery and bring that Loki gif to the comments)

And go forth and have fun. <3

Adminny-min stuff to remember:
1) Always label NSFW (Not Safe For Work) stuff in the title and post under a cut.
2) Fic and artwork needs to have a rating and warnings (or you can say that you’ve chosen not to use warnings).
3) For people with annoying internet connections, say in the title if a comment is graphic/images/gif-heavy and post picspams under a cut.
4) Have a damn good time! (Because if that’s not happening then this post has clearly failed.)

I wonder if I'm one of the only people who doesn't want any new Avengers to join the roster. I love the cast just as it is, especially those who tend to get smaller amounts of screentime, and don't want any of their screentime leeched by new characters!

Well
you're probably out of luck there as you've got Ant Man, Wasp, Falcon, War Machine, Winter Soldier and the Guardians of the Galaxy all with the possibility of getting screen time in A2.
[identity profile] amanuensis1.livejournal.com on January 25th, 2013 10:57 pm (UTC)
But they might stick to their own films at first, for just those reasons. Don't know!

CO-SIGNED,

(so much, dude. i agree with this sooooo much.)

Gimme my Clint 'n' Tasha screentime!

Seconding this like whoa!

Couldn't agree more!

Yeah, it does seem like there are WAAAY too many characters. There should be the Avengers 2 and 3 taking place concurrently, with the current Avengers + Loki taking on Thanos in Asgard, and all the new people facing a cosmic level threat on Earth (or maybe they just do that off-screen, 'cause I don't really care about the new people yet).
[identity profile] amanuensis1.livejournal.com on January 25th, 2013 10:59 pm (UTC)
*raises eyebrows* There's an idea!

I think the cast is so big that if they all didn't have their own films then we'd never really get to know them properly or get to see them develop, but thinking of the money angle I can see Marvel continuing to let characters have their own films and then just bring bunches of them together every so often in Avengers/group films.

Personally I'm happy with the roster as it is, but I know they'll be people who'd like to see others come and go. And I would like to see more of the secondary cast, and maybe a random Spider Man cameo?
(Anonymous) on January 25th, 2013 08:09 pm (UTC)
If there is
an avengers 3, the roster will probably look pretty different as Marvel is trying to develop Doc Strange, Luke Cage, Black Panther, Vision and talks of how to make the X-Men and Spiderman universes mesh with the MCU

Re: If there is
So would they just rotate characters as the storylines demanded? That sounds very comic-book-ish in its approach, but being a film fan first, it would leave me disappointed, as I'm pretty invested in particular characters.

Ah well, it's their studio.

There's been a lot of clamoring for everyone's favorite comic book character; it's interesting for me to be on the other side of this because I used to love Marvel comics but never developed much affection for The Avengers (I was an X-Men girl). So I have no favorite Avenger to clamor for; I've come at it as someone who just adored the Iron Man and Avengers movies.

I think there are plenty of white guys on the team, we don't need more! But I think the team could do with more diversity. Bring on Falcon and Captain Marvel, I say!

[identity profile] amanuensis1.livejournal.com on January 25th, 2013 11:04 pm (UTC)
As much as I want the roster to stay as it is so the characters I love get screentime, I agree that if they expand it would be great if it included someone other than white males!

YOU ARE NOT ALONE. Hawkeye already got the shaft; what could happen in Avengers 2 with a ton of new characters unless the movie is 5 hours long?
(Anonymous) on January 25th, 2013 09:34 pm (UTC)
Well the movies
are a money making marketing instrument for the other side of the business, comics. Hawkeye has not got a movie, and it certainly looks like he won't get one the more time goes on without anyone at Marvel even making noise about it, but Hawkeye is the star of one of the best recieved comics out there now. The movies are made to draw people towards the comics.

Also, what would a Hawkeye movie look like? The character is so fundamentally different from the comic version.

The movie version is a quiet loner/paid killer in the employ of a shadowy government agency who is reluctant to be a hero, while the comic version is loud, ex-circus performer, ex-thief, with a real aversion to killing but a drive to be a hero.
In the comics you had the Black Widow/Hawkeye relationship informing why Hawkeye became a hero when their relationship fell apart and them going their separate ways, but with the I owe him a debt line, the movieverse has seemingly reversing it and keeping them in close quarters with one another.
[identity profile] amanuensis1.livejournal.com on January 25th, 2013 11:07 pm (UTC)
Even if Hawkeye got the least amount of screentime I thought what was done with him was terrific; making him badass and on the other side showed how formidable he was even against a group of powered heroes. Plus it pulled at the viewer's sympathies, wanting him to get back with the good guys!

But at the heart of what you say, HELL YES. Don't add a ton more characters!

*raises hand* oh no, I'm so with you on that one! I love the cast as is, and was very worried at first on how they would pull off having so many characters in one movie..... I'm leery about adding anyone new, what does that mean for the characters I like/want to see? Though I would love to have more kickass females... (if they would just give us a Hawkeye/Black Widow movie then I wouldn't be as worried/concerned ;)
[identity profile] amanuensis1.livejournal.com on January 26th, 2013 01:29 pm (UTC)
Again, I yell, ARE YOU LISTENING, HOLLYWOOD. Migod, a Hawkeye/Black Widow film done up like a spy movie; can it be that that wouldn't reap the box office? Do they think that; are we that tiny a section of fans that it wouldn't pay off? *cries*
