Hurt and Comfort - Assassin Style
Greetings, Best Bar on Earth :)
It's time for a confession, I believe, so here it goes:
Hello, my name is Shen and I'm an h/c addict. *waves to group* I hope I'm not alone in this, but I seriously doubt it :)
What is so fascinating about hurt/comfort? Part of it surely is that you get to see the characters in extreme situations. How do they react when they are not in peak condition, physically, mentally or both?
I find this extremely interesting where Clint and Natasha are concerned. They are spies, assassins, badasses, right? But they are also human, and no matter how well you're trained, some things will just hit you where it hurts. There's only so much your body can take and the mind is an even more fragile thing. The movie just begged to explore how the mindcontrol would affect Clint's mental well-being and there are wonderful fics out there doing just that.
How would being in a relationship influence our favorite assassins in the field if one of them is injured? What length would they got to to protect/save/comfort the other? Is it different from them just being friends/partners? Would that maybe spark something? Where the comforting is concerned, would you expect mother-henning or rather snark and banter?
If you write hurt/comfort, you might find this site really helpful: Doctor Grasshopper. The title is "How To Kill Your Imaginary Friends: A writer's guide to diseases and injuries, and how to use them effectively in fiction"--and really, how much more relevant can you get? It's accessible, trustworthy-looking information (written by someone who teaches and is doing his/her medical residency), and is geared specifically toward writers (and can be helpful for artists, too!). (And if you feel like you've just seen this information last week, you're probably also a member of hoodietime :))
Anyways, rambly ramble is rambly - it's gonna be a rainy weekend so I'll be in need of some good hurt/comfort and would love your recs :D And please bring artwork and gifs too, I know there are tons of great ones out there!
Here are some of my favorites:

anuna_81 (R for nudity) Summary: Natasha takes Clint on a trip in an effort to fix him after New York. Travelling and the destination, and her history with the destination fixes them both.
All your Metal Armor by surrealis on AO3 (M, non-graphic sex, angst) which is beautifully written from Natasha's point of view after the battle of New York. Clint and Natasha have some healing to attend to after everything that happened.
And then I'm just gonna throw Aggie2011 at you on FFN (see individual fics for ratings and warnings). She has this whole universe of H/C stories revolving around Clint. There's a lot of Clint and Coulson friendship there, which is really well done. But it really starts to shine once Natasha makes an entrance.
Two for the show by mousie tongue on FFN (Teen and up, bullying, physical and verbal; sexualized assault of a minor; minor-on-minor violence; homophobia and homophobic language; swearing; mentions of an eating disorder, child abuse, and possible non-con of a minor) After her uncle is taken, young Natasha Romanov ends up in state's custody at a group home. She can tough it out alone... but somehow fellow resident Clint Barton becomes the reason she doesn't have to. A high school AU.

alphaflyer on FFN (M, see post for warnings) Levelling out is part of their routine, part of after-action clean-up. They've done it many times before and are damned professional about it. But as she said, this last one was all about magic and monsters, and nothing they had ever trained for ...
And finally two by
lar_laughs, Whatever it takes (teen and up, injuries) and See How I Am Faithful (teen and up, deaf character).
Adminny-min stuff to remember:
1) Always label NSFW (Not Safe For Work) stuff in the title and post under a cut.
2) Fic and artwork needs to have a rating and warnings (or you can say that you’ve chosen not to use warnings).
3) For people with annoying internet connections, say in the title
if a comment is graphic/images/gif-heavy and post picspams under a cut.
4) Have a damn good time! (Because if that’s not happening then this post has clearly failed.)
