And what better way to keep the party going than with a friending meme to meet more awesome Clint/Natasha shippers you can squee with in the party post?!

Name: Chris

How did you find be_compromised?: Whenever I join any fandom I go looking for a shipper community because they always have the best updates and fun times. So stumbled across this community after seeing The Avengers for the billionth time.

What do you like best about the C/N ship?: I like that there is flexibility with the characters, allowing for creativity. Also trust. It seems like a common theme in a lot of the stories and I love exploring that concept.

Any other ships/fandoms?: Ummm, so many. My actual fandoms and ships include Harry Potter (originally Harry/Hermione although I'm now all about Hermione/Draco), Twilight (Jasper/Bella for reasons I can't explain), The Hunger Games, The Host, Community (Jeff/Annie, although this one has cooled a little as that community has gone crazy), Parks and Rec (Ben/Leslie), BSG (Lee/Kara), The Vampire Diaries (Klaus/Caroline currently), True Blood (Eric and anybody who gets him naked), Fringe (Lincoln and somebody who will make him happy, usually Red!Olivia), Haven (Audrey/Nathan), The Unusuals (Casey/Jason), Grey's Anatomy (Cristina/Owen, please don't judge), Smash (Derek/Karen), Tin Man (Cain/DG). Right now I'm obsessed with Daryl/Carol from The Walking Dead. Pretty much eating up my time right now.

Some of my fave shows, which I don't ship or participate in fandom include Parenthood, Friday Night Lights, Arrested Development, Scrubs, and MASH. I watch a ridiculous number of tv shows, so this isn't even the half of it.

What's your favorite type of post at b_c? (All Things Friday, fic battles, rec posts, fic/vid/playlist posts, etc.) Party posts. They are always so random and fun. I may not always participate, they always bring a smile to my face.

Clint and Natasha are totally _________ Badass and independent, but willing to trust and rely on each other.

What song most makes you think of C/N? Numerous. I'm currently working on a fanmix for them. But I think the one that epitomizes them is Bad Sun by The Bravery.

What are some of your real-life interests/hobbies?

I'm finishing up my Master's right now in History, which is subject I love and love to discuss with people. I am writing my thesis about Irish history so that's a particular obsession. I watch an insane amount of tv and movies, I love pop culture (I think to balance my academic side). I write. I love reading, especially YA and comics. My first degree was in education and I want to be a history teacher.
Friending policy? Anybody is welcome. I post sporadically, some long lengthy life-centered posts, sometimes rants about my favorite shows. It's really random.

Anything else you want to say? This is an amazing bar and y'all are awesome! Met some cool people in this community and would love to meet more.

I ship Christina/Owen as well, I just want them to be happy!!!! lol.

And I cry a little bit every Thursday that Ben Wyatt isn't a real person.. ;)

I'm have a history degree as well (although it's just a B.A. and not your awesome Masters) so I understand the dedication it takes to write a paper. Are you focusing on a particular aspect of Irish history?

Oh my goodness, I want those to be happy too. I'm just not sure the writers are going to let it happen. This whole kid thing just won't go away.

I have such a huge crush on Ben. I died when he started to talk about his Star Trek fanfiction. He is such a huge nerd, but in such an adorable way.

Pretty much a Masters in history is similar to the BA, except the thesis and the sheer number of books you have to read, lol. I'm specifically writing my thesis on Patrick Pearse's Gaelic school, St. Enda's. I have focused a lot in my readings on the Easter Rising, the Gaelic Revival, and education in Ireland. How about you? Was there anything you focused on in your degree? I know some programs let you specialize. Does your work relate to history at all?

Yeah, it seems like the whole kid thing is going to drive them apart in the end. Which stinks because Owen would make a really great dad.

For my senior thesis I focused on the history of comics (particularly Wonder Woman) and how it related to feminism from the 40s-current. Other than that, it was general history courses-although I enjoyed my Latin America class. I also got a teaching certificate so I'm trying to get a job in a middle or high school (trying being the key word, lol).

If that doesn't pan out, I'd like to maybe get a job at a historical society or something ^-^

That's my goal as well! I graduated from college a couple years ago to become a history teacher and found that it was near impossible to get a job, especially since I'm not a man wanting to coach. There was legitimately a position that I couldn't apply for because the title was history teacher/football coach. That's why I'm back in school. Decided I needed a leg up and now I will be qualified to teach at community college, even though my heart is pretty set on teaching middle school history. It's a tough market out there.

I love the idea of using comics to examine social structures like feminism. Cultural history like that is so interesting, seeing how you can extract societal norms and values from the everyday culture that people consumed. It obviously raises a huge question of what was intended and if people noticed it, but it's still by far my favorite kind of history.

Do you mind if I friend you? I like knowing somebody else that is trying to do the same thing I am.

It is tough out there, (I actually lost my job at the end of the year and have been looking for anything) but you just have to keep on chugging-even if it's hard at times.

Originally since it was a 40 page paper I wanted to do a section on Green Lantern/Social Justice, Superman/American exceptionalism, Wonder Woman/Feminism, and Batman/corruption but my advisor steered me towards one subject which actually worked out since there was plenty of source material for me to work with (comic, cartoon, movie/TV). It was really interesting to see how the focus shifted over the years and her current interpretation.

And sure! :D
