ATTF: Music and Musicals
Hello, oh denizens of This Bar.

Please forgive the lateness of this post- I could give you many excuses, but the truth is that I forgot yesterday was Friday. My life is the most difficult of them all.

MOVING ON.

Today I want to talk to you about music and our spies.

What kind of music do you think they like, if they like any at all? Does Clint listen to Panic! At the Disco! when he works out? Does Natasha like to make love to Mahler?

And while we're at it, what about when you're creating? What kind of music gets you in the spysassin mood? Do you have a C/N anthem? Are there any fics that you like that use music in them, or inspire you to listen to a specific song?

Under the cut: Music! To listen to!

These are some of my favorite Clint/Natasha songs - ones that get me in a mental place to write about our spies.

Hit the Lights - Bodybag

Suzanne Vega - Marlene on the Wall

All Time Low - Coffee Shop Soundtrack

Damien Rice - Cannonball

Stars - The Night Starts Here

Erin McCarley - Love Save The Empty

So. What are yours?

Things to remember:
1) Always label NSFW (Not Safe For Work) stuff in the title and post under a cut.
2) Fic and artwork needs to have a rating and warnings (or you can say that you’ve chosen not to use warnings).
3) For people with annoying internet connections, say in the title if a comment is graphic/images/gif-heavy and post picspams under a cut.
4) Have a damn good time! (Because if that’s not happening then this post has clearly failed.)

That is too funny. I was going to mention a Cohen allergy, but then I didn't. We are so obviously on the same wavelength. (But she does like his songs when they're done by someone else, like Jennifer Warnes' Famous Blue Raincoat and k.d. lang's cover of "Hallelujah". (Clint gets a mixture of nervous and excited whenever that line about the kitchen chair comes around, though, and she gets that gleam in her eyes.)

Oh, and I lied about the long silence. I'm now in the lounge at the airport. Free wifi, so what do I do? Go back and comment ... For another 5 minutes, anyway.

Oh my GOD. Yes yes yes. Please please write this. I need it in my life and I didn't know til now.

(also, you are flying to Warsaw? From Canada? When you were Europe not two days ago? Do you spend half your life on planes?)

Yes, yes it's true. You know you spend too much of your life on on planes when the stewardess says "Not you again???" My record is back-to-back flights to India in 24 hours (now legendary in my bureau).

They just called my flight, so it's down tools and board. Bye everyone!

But... I. I have nothing. The geographer and climate conscious part of me is dying a little at the amount of CO2. But also the sleep. I would be a mess.

Safe flight!

Your faith was strong but you needed proof
You saw her bathing on the roof
Her beauty in the moonlight overthrew you
She tied you to a kitchen chair
She broke your throne, and she cut your hair
And from your lips she drew the Hallelujah...,

Yeah. Im with Franzi -- may have to fic-ify that at some point. Maybe when I;m retired and not so worried about my Masters reading what I write in my spare time ...?

I am still impressed that they allowed kd lang to belt that one out at the opening ceremony for the Vancouver Olympics. Hello, Canada and our fearless taste in music ...
