ATTF: Crossovers and Fusions
Okay, like 6 weeks ago I said I would have a better idea. Mainly because I was going to research and make a chart and possibly fill in some amazing notes and examples...

and then life happened and none of this occurred. So... that being said you might better off skipping this week unless you have an opinion.

That being said, there seems to be a lot of fusion and crossover fics in the Avengers fandom. Fandoms like Harry Potter and The Hunger Games. To semi crossover/fusions with Clint Barton was William Brandt in MI4 to Phil Coulson as Mike Casper in The West Wing.

-A lot of the times I notice however that usually in these if Coulson is involved, the pairing we see is Coulson/Barton. So primarily as a N/C fan I ask is there any recs involving them in crossover/fusion related fiction?

-If you were to write a fusion or crossover fic with Clint and Natasha, what fandom? And how would it go? Would Clint be someone else? Would Natasha? Would it be like a Mr. & Mrs. Smith thing instead with the plot just be a replicated idea but catered to the heroes we know?

-What fandoms do you think fit well with The Avengers verse and the super spies?

I wrote a tiny HP fusion once, and I think I've shared it here before, but here it is below. (Rated G, no warnings.)

Clint wakes in the dimness of the boy's dorm, Steve's hand on his shoulder.

"Is it time?" he whispers to the older boy, and Steve nods. Silently, Clint dresses, being careful not to wake the other boys in his year - Steve is a 7th year to Clint's 5th, so there are still four sleepers in the room.

The two of them shuffle down the hall to the Hufflepuff common room, big squishy couches and a roaring fire at all hours, but devoid of students now. If Steve wasn't Head Boy, this would be more dangerous, but they do this every month, at the full moon, and they've got a pattern now.

They have to flatten against the wall on their way to the astronomy tower, as they hear Headmaster Fury's tell-tale footsteps, and the soft murmur of Professor Hill's voice, discussing the meeting she's had with some parent or another, but they pass without seeing the boys - or without acknowledging them, you never know with Fury - and it's only a matter of moments before they're racing quietly up the stairs to their meeting.

Bruce and Tony, the resident Ravenclaws, are already there, pointing out constellations and muttering in hushed voices. It's a matter of minutes before Thor and Phil appear in their Gryffindor red robes, and Natasha and Loki pull themselves up from their common room in the dungeon.

Steve begins.

"Well met," he intones, and the others echo his greeting. This part is scripted, and they know it by heart. Now is the history.

"Since the days of the Second Wizarding War and Dumbledore's Army, there have always been students at the ready, to defend our school and remain vigilant. As laid out in the charter, signed by our founders Neville Longbottom and Ginny Weasley, there are two members of each house present tonight. We will preserve the integrity of this fine establishment, and protect our classmates to the best of our ability. May no student ever lose their life in these halls again."

"Never again," the others echo.

"Ravenclaw," Steve says, glancing at Tony and Bruce. "Report?"

They go through the houses, each talking about anything they've seen that might be even a little suspicious.

It's an honor to be an Avenger, to be chosen to represent your house. They keep the memory of those who have come before, and guard the futures of those who are yet to be. And above all, they stay secret. If it were to get out who the Avengers were - well, all the students know they exist, and some have guesses as to the membership, but the counsel only functions when they are trusted by other students, when they can observe unsuspected. It's what makes people like Tony and Loki such valued members - no one would suspect such troublemakers to be Avengers.

Clint gives his report last, as the most junior member, and glances around the circle as Steve calls for analysis and thoughts. In the daylight they're barely even friends, maybe they nod at each other in the hallway, but here, in the dark of night at the top of the Astronomy Tower, they are a Force, unstoppable and eternal.

That is one I still have flagged and read from time to time! I love it!

I think I wrote it for your prompt, so that's pretty awesome. ;)

I think so! I can't remember exactly other than I was completely behind the idea and I still am!

emmm ... the eternal fannish question: is there any more? 'Cause what there is, is very intriguing. Love the choice of Steve as a Hufflepuff. A bit counter-intuitive at first, but not at all once you think about it. :-)

I call him Captain Hufflepuff.

It's also the house where I sort Clint - I just. Can't. Can't. See Clint as a Gryffindor, or anything else but Hufflepuff.

I never came up with much of a plot for it, but if I did, I'd write more.

And ugh, Steve is a complete Hufflepuff! Fair and hardworking and all about the underdog? Wfftitwff all the way.
