Secret Santa: Cheerleader Tea Party
It is now 20 DAYS until Secret Santa gifts are due!

Perhaps you thought you were almost finished, but you didn't realise the deadline was that close. Perhaps you are near the end of your NaNoWriMo efforts and completely forgot December was the month that comes after. Perhaps you are tearing your hair out because you don't know what to write. Now is not the time to panic! Now is the time for a Cheerleader Tea Party.

Pull up a chair, tell us your woes (remembering to keep who you're writing for anonymous and avoding any specifics that would give you away as the giftee anonymous), and people of the bar will gather around to give you tea, sugary goods, shawarma, and all the support we can. Cheerleaders, why not break out your poms poms and descend upon this post with encouragement for our Secret Santa creators. Sometimes you just need a cup of tea and a good chat to make everything better :)

We also have A BETA POST to find a beta or offer to be a beta for more detailed support!

YOU CAN DO IT!!!

Luckily I've been using my Secret Santa to procrastinate, and my burgeoning research skills to add some fun to the story, so it's mostly done in slushy first draft form. Now I just have to make it good, which might be more of a challenge, because I'm writing a screenplay for NaNo, which has increased my usual terseness in prose to ridiculous levels.

Applause and good luck to everyone who is making the attempt.

Oh, the research. I have to do so much research for mine and I have a feeling it's not even going to be anywhere near a reality. Also, the research is gun-related, so I can't use my off-time at work like I normally would. And I applaud you for being able to write screenplays and long-form prose at the same time. I find it's not possible for me.

The worst part of doing research for fiction is when you hunt something down for an hour, realizes it introduces unnecessary complications, and just decide to be deliberately inaccurate for the sake of the story anyway.

Well I'm definitely attempting both. Whether I succeed or not is a different story.

Or when you do two days of research, and it boils down to a line, and then during editing you cut the line.

SO MANY TIMES. :)

Yes! That!
