ATTF: Recs From The Wider Marvel Universe
Welcome to a requested special recs edtion of All The Things Friday! Buckle up, members of the bar, because for this ATTF only we're venturing out into the wider Marvel universe.

We're always happy to have Clint and Natasha recs here at [livejournal.com profile] be_compromised even for things that aren't necessarily Clint/Natasha, if they have a focus on at least one of them, or showcase them particularly well, or if there's a fantastic group thing, we love 'em. We even have tags for them! But sometimes we come across a group fic that isn't really about them at all, or a Kate as Hawkeye rec that we'd really like to share, or another awesome female character we think how great it is that we've found something that treats ladies well, or a story about how Thor isn't a moron he's just alien, or a character that isn't even part of the Avengers but the rec is just so, so good... Well now's your chance to share with the bar!

Guidelines

1. If it features characters from Marvel, you can rec it! Go!

2. I know this is business as usually for our bar, but considering the topic just to reiterate: absolutely no chacater bashing, ship wars, or rubbish like that. We're here to share the love. Sometimes fics have pairings that people don't like, or have other things that aren't a reader's cup of tea, but we're going outside of our common territory of Clint and Natasha here so there's likely to be something that isn't someone else's cup of tea. It there's something you don't like, no need to comment on it; move on. Sharing the love. Thank you :)

Things to remember:
1) Always label NSFW (Not Safe For Work) stuff in the title and post under a cut.
2) Fic and artwork needs to have a rating and warnings (or you can say that you’ve chosen not to use warnings).
3) For people with annoying internet connections, say in the title if a comment is graphic/images/gif-heavy and post picspams under a cut.
4) Have a damn good time! (Because if that’s not happening then this post has clearly failed.)

OK, so my mind went completely blank for this, before going it to complete overdrive. So I apologise in advnce for the spam.

> Drop The Needle Again (And I Dance With Your Ghost) by Sidney Sussex. [gen, PG, 3112 words, no warnings] Sitwell lets Blake call him ‘Coulson’ three times before he snaps.
> (sleep wake hope and then) by [livejournal.com profile] samalander [gen, PG-13, ~8000 words, depression, can be read as pre-Steve/Tony] Steve Rogers wants to go back to art school. But more than that, he wants to figure out what his legacy is, and what he's doing here.
> Recovery by Sinkme [gen, PG-13, ~2000words, ptsd&recovery] Surprisingly, it was Maria Hill who pushed Clint firmly on the path to recovery.
> Not Words But Meanings by [livejournal.com profile] samalander [gen, PG-13, ~7300words, no warnings] James Rhodes loves Tony Stark dearly, and he has to learn to deal with the fact that, while Tony loves him back, Tony has some new friends, and new plans, and they don't always involve Rhodey.
> The Hip and The Dead by hollimichel [gen, PG-13, ~5500words, no warnings] Steve centric: When she asks about the other tenants in the building, the realtor just throws up his hands and says, "Look, I don't know. They're artsy types, if they live around here. You know. Hipsters."
> All the Anger That They Eat by Beatrice Eagle (ClawR) [gen, PG-13, ~7600words, ptsd] Tony agrees to see a therapist for his, you know, fairly obvious issues. No one is more surprised than he is.
> The Other Me on the Other Side of the Stars by everythingispoetry [gen, PG-13, ~4300words, grief, loss] JARVIS&Thor: As time passes, Thor and JARVIS, both immortal if in different ways, become friends. Bonding over loss it bittersweet, but it's better than being lonely.
> The Evaluation Process by sinemoras09 [gen, PG-13, ~4300words, grief, loss] JARVIS!feels: Tony dies, and Jarvis tries to cope.
> Exclusive by [livejournal.com profile] copperbadge [gen, PG-13, ~30,000words, no warnings] Heroes In Manhattan: From Captain America's Hidden Talents To The Truth About The Hulk, We Debunk The Myths And Expose The Daily Lives Of The Avengers.
> The Glass Parade by [livejournal.com profile] enigma731 [gen with backround Clint/Natasha, PG-13, ~6700words, no warnings] In which the most confusing part of the future is how much Steve has in common with Natasha, and the fact that she seems dead-set on being his friend.

(cont.)

> Every Denny's in America by Sookie Starchild [gen, PG, ~5100, no warnings] Thor and Steve are definitely not hiding in a Denny's restaurant. Because Thor doesn't hide and Steve doesn't run away from his problems.
> the radio plays just the perfect song by TLvop [gen, PG-13, ~5300words, no warnings] A fic about Darcy and her first year with SHIELD. (And tangentially about how Clint should be more cautious when leaving things around the office.
> The Exchange by SLynn [gen, PG-13, ~5900words, no warnings] Clint has his own system that allows him to get new reading material without actually having to keep any of it. Mostly, it works. Until it doesn't.
> Ode to Joy by [livejournal.com profile] tinnytins [gen, PG, no warnings] Firefly crossover: Dunny speaks in dry whispers.
> Stars Come Down in You by [livejournal.com profile] samalander [Peggy/Steve, PG-13, ~3500words, aging] Steve is dead - he's been dead for years. But that doesn't stop Peggy from having dreams about dancing with a young man she knew in the war.
> The Right Thing The Wrong Way by igrocksopck [Pepper/Tony, PG-13, ~3800words, no warnings] People don't ask why Pepper sticks by Tony as often as they should, and if they did, she probably wouldn't tell them the truth: that he's never left her alone on the one day she actually needs him.
> yet turning stay by irnan [Tony/Pepper, PG-13, ~3000words, no warnings] "Tony - you're all I've got too, you know."
> People Who Know My Sins by [livejournal.com profile] atrata [Tony/Pepper, PG-13, no warnings] Dancing is not in her job description, but neither is mopping up blood at 4 in the morning. She does it anyway.
> call every girl we ever met maria by irnan [Tony/Pepper, PG-13, ~2700words, no warnings] "You're telling me," Rhodey said, gleeful, "you're telling me that you've been shot, stabbed, sewn up, been riddled with shrapnel, had a magnet implanted in your chest, spent two years poisoning yourself with palladium, spent twenty years as a functioning alcoholic and had a vasectomy and you still managed to knock Pepper up?"
> Someone I Used To Know by igrockspock [Tony/Pepper, PG-13, ~1800words, no warnings] Pepper doesn't talk about home or family much, but that doesn't mean Tony doesn't know about them.
> Breadcrumbs by irnan [Bruce/Betty, PG-13, ~2400words, no warnings] Betty is aware that this is not going to work unless she can come up with a better plan than calling up the Pentagon and asking if they can direct her to a scientist who occasionally turns into a giant green monster, a specific one, she didn't just wake up this morning with a craving, she's actually his girlfriend, so would they mind very kindly putting her through... ?
> [to see you there] by Feather (lalaietha) but especially [far from here we are all right] [Clint/Natasha, Bruce/Betty, Pepper/Tony, PG-13, ~10600words, no warnings] "Yes," [Natasha] says. "It's Dr Ross." / "And now you want to go find her and recruit her," Clint says, just to get it out in the air. You have to admire Natasha, really. No matter what or who she runs into, she will obsessively hunt until she finds a way to neutralize them. And she's good at thinking outside the box and knowing that "neutralize" doesn't necessarily mean "kill, concuss or capture."

(more cont.)

> can't outrun your blood by lionlannister [Clint/Natasha/Bucky, R, ~5800words, violence] Clint Barton has been running since the moment his brother died, before that even, but now he has a real family. Friends that steal to survive and spend all their days together. But he was never allowed to stay safe for long and violence runs in his blood.
> We Are (Not) A James Bond Movie by zeffyamethyst [Clint/Natasha/Bucky, PG-13, ~800words, no warnings] Bucky sleeps with Natasha first. The rest is history.
> All Bets Are Off by BeBunny [Clint/Natasha/Steve, NC-17, ~16800words, no warnings] AU in which Coulson is the Avenger's liaison, Natasha and Clint are in an established relationship and Steve is mostly confused.

> Captain Marvellous by [livejournal.com profile] copperbadge [Clint/Carol, NC-17, ~2200words, no warnings] comics'verse: The "morning" after.
> Frequently Asked Questions by Mad_Maudlin [gen, PG-13, ~2300words, memory loss] comics'verse, Clint and Kate: Today is Monday, March 18th. You started losing your memories yesterday.
> Afternoon Stroll by neveralarch (with art by [livejournal.com profile] astridv) [gen, PG, ~700words, no warnings] comics'verse, Clint and Kate: Right, so I'm taking the dog out for a walk. The most normal thing I could possibly do.

I'M SORRY. (I'm not sorry.)

(Also I'm impressed that I only had to remove one rec from my list so as not to double up on [livejournal.com profile] inkvoices.)

ALSO I LOVE [livejournal.com profile] samalander YOU GUYS.

DO NOT BE SORRY! *rubs hands together with glee* I, um, may have already read almost all of these and kept going YES, OH YES, AND THAT ONE, YAY, ALL SECONDED, and then felt a tiny bit disappointed until I realised it was almost all and not all and now I have things to read, EXCITEMENT!

Going in order first up is The Evaluation Process, so just read that now. Ouch. Interesting and very good, but oh, ouch.

So many great-sounding things there -- I don't have time to trawl, and I depend on recs and favourite-listings from people I trust for my fan fic needs. I am SO keeping both your (Franzi's and Ink's) for the holidays -- until then, alas, a dangerous combination of a toxically busy RL, too many bang/exchange story writing obligations and the annual Christmas cookie extravaganza will keep my hopping.

But those lists? Keepers, until that halcyon moment when all you need to do is heat up leftovers.

YES! Denny's. Also, Permit A38, Captain Marvellous and Exclusive. Brilliant, every last one of them.
