ATTF: Black Widow and/or Hawkeye -- Soon to be a Major Motion Picture!
You've heard the rumours, including right here in this lovely bar.  Clicked on and squeed over the articles:  Rumours of a Black Widow solo film!  And ... will there be Hawkeye movie, too?

Now's the time to stop drooling or staring into faraway spaces, and to get busy!  Show Joss what he could do with such amazing, smoking hot material!  Here's your chance to sketch out a complete plot, a scene, or an "other Avenger" cameo for the movie(s) you've been pining for.  Hell, why be modest -- give us the whole arc, leading from CA2 to Age of Ultron and beyond, to BW1 and 2, or Hawkeye: The Ronin Years.  Make Hollywood pass the Bechdel test -- give us BW and Melinda May, being total ninjas as they hunt for the missing Captain Marvel.

I think you get the idea?  :-)  Here's hoping you're not prompted out from the Great Valentine Extravaganza!  And since we're not looking for complete scripts but story outlines (although little scenes would be nice, too...) the non-writers in this bar need not feel shy.  This is your chance for equal-opportunity-mayhem-on-the-hoof!

Oh, and if you think there's That Perfect Fic out there that would make a terrific movie script (be it back story or mission/adventure), why not give us a rec while you're at it?  Or your thinky thoughts about why a movie (or two) starring one or more of our favourite assassins is evidence of the Zeitgeist.

Go nuts!

<small>Things to remember:
1) Always label NSFW (Not Safe For Work) stuff in the title and post under a cut.
2) Fic and artwork needs to have a rating and warnings (or you can say that you’ve chosen not to use warnings).
3) For people with annoying internet connections, say in the title if a comment is graphic/images/gif-heavy and post picspams under a cut.
4) Have a damn good time! (Because if that’s not happening then this post has clearly failed.)</small>

Wait, how can anyone be tired of Clint????

I'm glad you asked that, because I have been waiting to use this gif forever:

I just think that Clint is overused in fandom because he has so little screen time people project so much onto him (case in point: Clint/ Coulson fandom). And I'm sort of bored of all the lusting after him (although I totally understand it, because those arms etc).

That is why I'm tired of Clint, though I'm happy that other people aren't, and love him, because fandom is diverse and beautiful like that. :P

This is intereting to me b/c I kinda feel like the fandom Clint may not be the "real" Clint (of course all Clints are fake, but you know...the MCU Clint) so I can't wait to see more of him and get a handle on his character. I guess I separate the MCU Clint with the Coulson/Clint Clint, haha.

The Clint/Coulson Clint? Is not a Clint I can relate to. And it's not because I can't see a non-het Clint, but because he tends to be portrayed as this fluffy, submissive thing (at least in the ones I've attempted).

I probably over-write my Clint (in shipping terms at least) too, but I do try and stay within the admittedly limited parameters we're offered in the movies -- snarky, questioning his superiors, obviously close relationship with Natasha that requires very little verbal communication, that sort of thing.

So, yeah, I hear you.

This is the only Clint/Coulson fic that I really loved (and wish she would update)...its Clint/Nat with past Clint/Coulson, and I just LOOOOVE AlwaysLera's writing (would tag her here if I knew how).

I know I'm kind of odd in that I'll read pretty much anything *grins* but there is good and bad Clint/Coulson out there just like all other fic, and Clint/Steve, and Clint/anyone else of your choice. And there are plenty of non-het Clint's who are far from fluffy and submissive.

Without throwing Coulson at you ;) keeping your head above water by ashen_key is interesting - four scenarios of Clint and Natasha in an ongoing story, but in each segment they're different genders and orientations.

Find it interesting how people are seperating MCU Clint and comics Clint, and fandom Clint and Clint/Coulson Clint... I think when a character originates in comics, with all their different universes and incarnations there's never going to be a 'real' Clint, and I like that :)

I'll have a look ... I'm not UTTERLY opposed to Clint/Coulson, but so many of them are OOC ...
inkvoices: avengers:clint comic[personal profile] inkvoices on February 22nd, 2014 12:30 am (UTC)
Ah, but if it's MCU Clint we know so little about him to be OOC, and if it's comics Clint there's so many versions of him, and at the end of the day it's all fanfic anyway *grins*. I'm pickier than I used to be about fic, but I long ago learnt not to close myself off to anything, because what if I missed the good stuff?! I nearly never read Terry Pratchett when I was younger because of the covers and wow, seriously self? SERIOUSLY?

Hmm, let's see, I am rubbish at reccing as I read too much... Have you read anything by scifigrl47? Clint/Coulson is one of the pairings in her huge, sprawling fics that actually focus more on ridiculous plots and people being people and families of choice and are a whole lot of fun.

Bylines is a journalism AU from foxxcub, I warn you it's a WIP, but it's basically what if they all ended up stuck in a small town. Clint went away to be a big shot journalist - he was actually the most successful of them all! And met Natasha as a great friend! and then it went wrong and he comes back to the small town of 'failures'...and there's much good in this one.

And circus peanuts isn't the best in the world maybe, but I read it recently and it hurts in the right places and makes me smile in all the right places too - it's a kid!phil ran away to join the circus too but then they both ended up in SHIELD fic. (Yeah, me and circus fic, sue me :P )

...I should point out I'm not selling you a pairing. I also have Clint/Steve, Clint/Kate, Tony/Pepper, Tony/Pepper/Bruce and all manner of Avengers combinations in my bookmarks *grins*. But hey, you like Clint, right? :)
[identity profile] happilydancing.livejournal.com on February 22nd, 2014 12:50 am (UTC)
I think I don't mind Clint/anyone secondary (ok, not down for Clint/Steve, Clint/Kate, etc, haha, but other folks) as long as its past Clint/Other, current Clint/Nat.

I'm so selfish with my favorite pair. Like when Roseanne wanted Darlene and David together..."I love Darlene and I love David. NO NEW PEOPLE!" ;)

I have favourites to write, but reading-wise if a writer can make me believe in a relationship they have me.

Agree -- I actually LIKE reading a well-written Clint-Darcy, to the point where I considered writing one myself (if only to have an excuse to write the Darcy-voice POV). I may yet ...

In the couldn't-write-but-would-like-to-read department is Clint/May or Clint/Maria, which I think could be seriously interesting. Clint/Coulson not so much, for reasons expressed elsewhere, but there are some good ones.

In my other fandom (Star Trek: Voyager) I have written two ships -- Paris/Torres (my primary) and a couple Paris/Janeway (mostly platonic, but with reverberations from one that wasn't).

Bottomline: I can buy other ships, just like I will read almost anything if it's rec'd and well-written.

I like Darcy :) And I love some SHIELD-ness - the Agents of SHIELD folks and Maria, Natasha, Clint, Fury, Coulson, maybe with some Bobbi ...and this is why I started reading Secret Avengers *grins* although alas, no Melinda May in it yet. I just want all the SHIELD crazy, and all the ladies, pairings can be what-so-ever, heh.

I can get that *shrugs* but I don't know if any character can be called overused. Tropes become tropes for a reason *grins* and then we get the fun of turning them on their head, but for a character to themselves become a trope?

Some characters become more popular to write, and I can see Clint as a character being both easier and more difficult in that respect since if we only take his MCU self we have very little to go on, but I'd also throw in that as the non-super powered hero, in both comics and the movies (since Natasha kind of has powers in the comics, or at least longevity), and the way Clint screws up in the comics, and the way he's the one that get's screwed over by Loki and then comes out fighting...I think maybe Clint's also someone we get to relate to. Like Darcy. Someone without powers who can still be a hero :)

And I'd like to point out the entire cast of the Avengers are pretty, pretty people. No lust from over here, but so much pretty from all of them :D

One day I will icon the main Avengers film. But I'm kind of scared in case I start on that film and never stop lol.

Your icons are always great, but it could very easily become the project that never ends.
