Monthly Comics Discussion Post: February. Ish.
Whoops! Last month got derailed by preparation for the Valentine's Promptathon (AND IT WAS AWESOME), and the end of February coincided with some Stuff in my life so this post slipped my mind until now. Never mind, that means we get two discussion posts this month!

February was a big month for Clint and Natasha. Black Widow #3 was released and we finally got another Clint-centric issue of Hawkeye. Elsewhere, Shit Went Down in Secret Avengers. In further comics news, February also saw the release of Ms Marvel #1 and She-Hulk #1, to great critical and fan acclaim.

March is another big month in comics, with Black Widow #4 being released later in the month and Secret Avengers being relaunched next week I believe. The previews for Secret Avengers #1 show Clint crashing Natasha and Jessica Drew's spa day.

Discuss!

Let's see, thoughts on recent Marvel comics...

Haweye 15: so many caught with pants down type jokes to be had! I continue to love these comics! But argh, cliffhanger.

Black Widow: I continue to adore the art, and the narration in #3, oh my heart. I had my fingers crossed when they said they were bringing out a Black Widow comic, I admit, but I'm more than happy to uncross them at this point, sit back, and appreciate.

Loki Agent of Asgard #1: the first issue was worth it for the fact that the story revolves around Loki showing up at the Avenger's Tower. It's amusing and has a great Clint and Natasha scene. And as it's a story about stories and story telling I think I'll give the next one a shot.

Secret Avengers: the end of the Mockingbird arc...I'm not convinced I entirely got the point of that run, and the ending...the whole 'and now you will forget' for the rest of them is just painful. I'm not sure about the artwork for the new run, but in the previews it looks like the humour remains, so I'll dive in :)

In the ladies issues: She-Hulk #1 was not my cup of tea I'm afraid, I don't really like the artwork and the story didn't grab me. Someone yell at me if i'm making a mistake and really need to read issue 2. Ms Marvel I DID like; I like the artwork and the story wasn't condescending even if was a bit obvious. Young in tone, but I can live with that. And I had no interest in the upcoming Elektra, but I'm liking the art that I'm seeing and there is a Skottie Young cover. (Damn, I can't resist those, lol.) And more Captain Marvel is on the way! Any more ladies comics we should be keeping our eyes peeled for?

First things first: ZOMG HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!!!!!!

Yeah, Secret Avengers was... strange. It felt really rushed, and some plotlines weren't resolved. I'm hoping the relaunch will inject some much needed life back into the comic, but I'm disappointed Bobbi won't be a member of the team any longer. I don't want her to be in limbo. :/

I don't know of any more lady comics coming out, but they're announcing new titles fairly regularly, so who knows!

Awww, THANKING YOU!!! *hugs*

Yeah, I liked it when it started. Like the conversation between Nat and Clint on the plane in the early Now issues. But the recent arc? It got to the mansplaining comment and at first I responded with 'yes! ' and then I paused and went 'but hang on, um, actually isn't this kind of what the whole arc is?' I don't know, I just felt let down. Here's hoping it comes back strong. And maybe Bobbi, Bucky, and Daisy could work from the outside at cracking the Reverie?

I like that lady comics are a thing now! I want to make sure I read at least the first issue of each to support :)

Seconding the Happy Birthday!

(And I'll let you know if She-Hulk gets drastically better, or if the art changes.)
