Nobody is going to die in this movie. Not permanently. Not when everyone in the original cast has at least two and possibly more movies in their contract. That would just be dumb on Marvel's part.
There are rumors about literally everyone dying and rumors about literally everyone being in Cap 3. I think we all need to just chill for the time being.
I never quite get why people think someone will die? I mean, there was the whole "the Avengers roster will change" quote, but I always took that as Pietro and Wanda getting added to it? XD
Indeed. Plus, they're adding new characters into the franchise between now and Civil War. A Civil War would be kind of -- oh, I don't know -- tiny if it only involves 6 protagonists...
I'll wait for the movie to come out, and write some jossable fanfic right up to until it does. -- That sounds like a plan. XD And if worse comes to worst, well, I'll still have the comics. Hehe.
Can we talk about how nervous I am for Hulk/Widow to not just be a rumor? I've been burned by Joss before but it doesn't hurt any less this time around.
Seriously. Especially after he sent up Clint and Nat so perfectly in Avengers. Plus the necklace. I have like serious anxiety over this happening. I guess I should prepare for the inevitable if the rumors are to be believed, I just don't get it and it makes me mad.
Exactly where you are. Ugh. Let's just hope it's just a rumor. I mean, remember the ruckus after the bts stuff from the Steve+Nat kiss in TWS? What we got instead was the necklace. XD
I'm hoping it's all rumors or misdirection. But a lot of the time these rumors end up being true...and remember, originally it was scripted that Steve and Nat would end up in bed together. I just don't get why they would let her wear that necklace then, Marvel is on top of their shit, you'd think they would have been like "oh well in Ultron Widow and Hulk hook up so don't confuse the poor fangirls."
See, the thing is, I don't think Marvel ever actually hinted at Bruce/Nat themselves? It's all interpretation of the trailer and interview statements from Ruffalo that could be taken either way and... Yeah. Well. Nah. I try not to worry, that way lies an ulcer. XD
Yeah apparently one of the big rumors floating around is that Natasha and Bruce are dating. Latino Review or whatever it's called broke the story last summer when they were filming. It's all rumor and speculation at this point but I'm very worried it's true.
Oh yeah, I heard of those rumors...I still don't necessarily buy it though. I feel like her relationship with Bruce is going to be really special, but really platonic, and she loves Clint. But we shall see!
What I was referring to was "It was originally scripted that Steve and Nat would end up in bed together." That was in the script? Where was it talked about??
I don't want anything to be explicitly canon. I'd be happiest if we just got lots of new gray areas to play with.
(Although really the make or break thing for me is a good storyline for Natasha, which I am pretty certain will happen at this point. Everything else is negotiable, and I'll take what I like and leave the rest.)
Agreed! I like the gray areas and am perfectly happy if that's all we get. I will be disappointed with Bruce/Nat but also at the end of the day, that's what fic is for. Canon never gives me what I want so I seek it out or write it myself. :)
I wouldn't have minded not knowing the Hulkbuster suit was in the movie...no biggie, as I know the canon, but I haven't (and won't) watch this preview. For other complete spoilerphobes like me, a cut would be appreciated. Thanks!
Though like I said, minor. Still...would be appreciated.
Not sure that a trailer qualifies as a spoiler? It tells you as much as the studio thinks you should know, in order to get your bum into a paying seat. Do you ever watch previews in the theatre? (I'm not trying to challenge your POV, I just find it interesting, given that trailers are pretty much a way of life in cinema.)
I stopped watching them years ago, and no, I don't watch them in the theater, either. I do for movies I don't care about, but it's not like I won't watch this movie. I don't need a trailer to entice me to do so. But yeah, I'm one of those fans who leaves the theater for a few during the previews or closes my eyes and puts in headphones for a minute. Like the guy in full Batman cosplay did when A Dark Knight preview came on once at Avengers. We're out here. I don't watch then for TV shows, either. In fact, a TV show cemented this idea, when they completely ruined a plot point in a preview.
So, nope. Never watch the trailers.
I was never so glad that I don't watch trailers as I was after seeing Iron Man 3, btw. The very best part, for me, was in the trailer (I watched it later). But I didn't know about it, and so when I saw the movie, I lost my mind over it.
I can see how seeing it in a trailer and thus being excited/anticipating it can be fun, too, but I'd rather be surprised. And though I knew Hulkbuster should make an appearance, some might not, and it's just a thought to put it behind a cut. Not a huge deal, because as you say, it's minor, but a nice thought.
I didn't expect it to be here, though, or I'd have avoided LJ, like I did Twitter. Most here are more careful. But no biggie. I certainly didn't click play! And the still on this one wasn't too bad. ;)
Well, I'm the kid that rattled and squeezed the Christmas presents ... I personally like previews because I get an idea whether I might want to watch a movie or not. (Not the case with AoU, of course!) I would not, for example, have seen Guardians of the Galaxy but for the trailer.
Oh, I did, too, until I realized that's taking half the fun away and since I always both wanted and got Legos, it didn't help me, as they make a very distinctive sound, but that doesn't confirm the set. ;)
And I watch previews for movies I either don't know about or don't care about. But ones I do? Nope. Haven't even seen a Star Wars trailer, and won't, even though I camped out for The Phantom Menace for three days (worth it, despite the movie - lifelong friends made!) and already have contingency plans for Episode Seven. ;)
