How many times have you seen Age of Ultron (so far)? Just once. It's a miracle that happened at all, because I had a kid in late March.

What things do you love to see in fics/creative works, what’re a few of your favourite things? I love me some BFF/partners-falling-in-love and I'm a sucker for really well done hurt/comfort. Also pretty much anything that has Natasha being clever and distant except when she's not.

If someone were to win the lottery and we had a community con (in Budapest, of course), suggest a panel, activity, event etc. you would like there to be: Roleplaying the MCU. Forums, tabletop, M*s, journals, tumblr, WHATEVER, talk to me about your crazy group-built stories!

Any other fandoms: I linger at the edge of fandoms, but I roleplay. Right now it's Mass Effect; next fall, it will be X-Men. I do like a heck of a lot of geeky things, though. Supernatural, The 100, Buffy, BSG, Farscape, a lot of sci fi and fantasy books by authors like Lois McMaster Bujold, Maggie Stiefvater, Robin McKinley, Seannan McGuire/Mira Grant, etc. I'm also pretty into good RPG or strategy video games like Mass Effect, Dragon Age, Fallout, Tomb Raider, XCOM.

The last book you read/film you watched/song you listened to: Fangirl, which seems oddly appropriate. And Mad Max:Fury Road. Hopefully I do not have to convince anyone here that that movie is awesome. (Wait. Is there any Natasha/Mad Max AU fic? I need that.)

What should a new friend know about you/your LJ and/or what are you looking for in an LJ friend? I used to write in LJ constantly and fell away for a while, though I've always read every day. I've recently picked it back up, because I want to chronicle what life's like now that I have a kid (9 weeks tomorrow!). So there's lots of baby stuff. But I also have lots of thinky thoughts about feminism and media and geekdom and write about it fairly frequently. I've been a roleplayer for years and years, so if you're interested in that and want on that filter, let me know. I'm a librarian at a university, so there's a bit of that, too. Most, but not all, of my journal is public.

I'm looking for people who write about interesting things. I don't care what that is. I'm more likely to add you if I can peek at your journal first, so if it's friends-only, give me some hints about what you write about. I love reading fandom stuff and RL stuff and meta and things about the world in general.

What should a new friend know about you/your LJ and/or what are you looking for in an LJ friend? My journal is about 50/50 RL and fannish content. RL posts are about teaching, food, and travel. Fannish posts are a combo of fic, recs, and reaction posts. I update anywhere between once a day to once a week depending on how busy my job is, and commenting is the same. I'd like to meet people who have at least some fannish content in their LJs and do not partake in ship wars.

MCU, comics, or all the things? ALL THE THINGS. I got into fandom and Clint/Nat because of the MCU, but I love the comics, and I love the fact that there are differences between the two. Comics!Clint, specifically Fraction's Hawkguy, is actually more of a favorite sometimes than MCU!Clint. But really, I love both comics and the MCU for their takes on different characters and different relationships.
How many times have you seen Age of Ultron (so far)? 4...if we're talking LEGAL theater viewings, that is. ;)

I did love the Laura reveal, and I really love the idea of Clint/Laura, and how their relationship fits in with Nat. And also, I love my "let's screw until the cows come home, romantically involved" assassins more than anything, so I'm happy to live in a world of AUs. I guess the long and short of it is that I love Clint and Nat as the bestest of best friends but I also love them romantically, obviously, and can go with whatever my brain wants at any given time. :)

When Natasha turns, she can see the outline of the sloping roof against the sky, a handful of lights burning holes in otherwise dark windows. She counts four or five, tries to mentally figure out who they belong to, aside from the one she knows is coming from Lila’s room.

How many times have you seen Age of Ultron (so far)? Twice; I totally thought I would want to watch this at least 4 times in the theater (like I did Avengers and Cap 2), but I THINK I'm good with tumblr graphics at the moment.

My new headcanon is the Barton family is a real thing, there has never been anything other than amazing friendship between Clint and Nat, that Clint and Laura are so in love and have been through so much together, but also that Laura eventually will die being awesome and heroic and THEN things start to change between Clint and Nat, and something new and beautiful develops.

MCU, comics, or all the things? All the things and so much more! I read Avengers and X-Men comics back in the day and got away from them. I got reacquainted with them when rumors of the MCU started to surface. I became obsessed with Tony Stark (fanning the flames was a life-long love affair with RDJ, through good times and bad). And then I met MCU Clint Barton. And then I met Fraction's Clint Barton. The rest, as they say, is history…
How many times have you seen Age of Ultron (so far)? 2, but have had many in-depth conversations with many folks with many different opinions on the film. That's been an absolute joy.

My heart camps on that river because I love the chemistry and romantic tension between Clint and Nat -- on screen and on paper. My head lives on the farm, though, because it does make sense. Anyone who knows me more than 2 minutes can tell I lead with my heart, so I sit firmly on the side of Clintasha romance. Although, the one story I've written and the one under construction are both AoU compliant. *sigh * bar tender I need a drink* Basically, I guess, if it's Clint and Nat, I want it.

Any other fandoms: I was a Mulder/Scully fanatic back in the day and looking forward to have that resurrected. Tony/Pepper. I'd like to see Bobbi/Hunter from AoS become more popular. For me, they seem to have filled in a little of "what might have been" for Clint/Nat.

I also love Bobbi/Hunter!!! I really think Hunter is the comics "Clint Barton" just without the bow and arrow of course. But he is the right age, the right attitude. And GOSH I LOVE BOBBI!!!!

I feel you on feeling the divide between MCU canon and fanon. A part of me is like "nope, I don't like this" but another part of me is "Yup, this totally works", and I feel like I am both grieving and reveling at the same time and its so weird. And I also feel like I can talk about it forever but I shouldn't b/c probably not good for my health. lol

Weirdly unconcerned about what canon says. When I see interesting fic or art, I'm down with living in its moment. Comics characters have always been especially malleable to me. I will say I am intrigued by Natasha/Bruce and that Nat being Hawkeye and Laura's close family friend (or more?) makes me happy. But so does the kind of Nat/Clint romance implied by the first movie, where they are each other's own world and do crazy dangerous spy stuff together all the time.

I also like tropes like who, esp soul bonds, telepathy, very specific forms of kidfic, and amnesia. H/c, natch. When characters are burning in love with each other and pining, that's good too.

OMG, YES. This has been my mantra for years!

I also love your attitude about everything, I feel the same way. I am intrigued by the developments in canon and want to see fic that incorporates that, but that doesn't stop me from enjoying all the fic that ignores it completely.

My headcanon has always varied according to what fic I'm writing, so I'm happy to write/read canon-compliant fic where Clint is happily married and Clint and Natasha are platonic BFFs and Natasha hangs out with Laura, canon-divergent fic where AoU never happened, mild AU and complete AU where canon isn't a factor anyway. I love Clint and Natasha as lovers who bang like bunnies, platonic BFFs and Clint/Natasha/Laura OT3, so I'm happy :D.

What things do you love to see in fics/creative works, what’re a few of your favourite things? Give me ALL THE TEAMFIC. I just love team bonding and people working together and that sort of thing. I love relationships of all kinds, basically, just watching how people interact, whether they're just figuring it out or have been friends/lovers for ages. Also crossovers, or people taking advantage of the melded universe and having stuff like, IDK, Natasha meeting Gamora. I enjoy AUs when they're clever and IC. I'm fond of many tropes, like curtainfic and animal transformation.

The beautiful thing about Nick Fury is that he’s willing to invest in crazy ideas. It isn’t really that he ignores protocol so much as that he looks past it, sees the bigger picture. Clint can appreciate that, especially in his superiors. He wouldn’t have bought in with SHIELD in the first place if it had been any different. Fury is a visionary, but beyond that, he’s also willing to put his trust in Clint’s judgment. Which is how he’s ended up here, inviting one of the world’s deadliest spies into his living room.

How many times have you seen Age of Ultron (so far)? Okay, um, so here's what happened. I got sick in the middle of the movie and had to step out to the ladies' room. So I missed a huge chunk of the movie. Sigh. They gave me a return ticket that I then used to see San Andreas. (I laugh.) I know what happened in the movie, though, and I've seen the original Avengers times beyond number. Anywho, I will see it again, of course, because how could I not, but still - odd story!

Natasha spent a solid hour under the hot water of her shower, the luxury of which still didn’t take the edge off her annoyance with Stark, but that was as much about her own issues with holding onto grudges as it did with how annoying he truly had ended up being. She was still too wired to sleep, and thought about going to see whether Clint was in the same state, but he’d spent the two days in Russia tucked into a notch in a hillside, freezing his ass off and waiting for the shot. Natasha completely understood his aversion to the cold and that it was deeply rooted in his most basic childhood memories and fears. She fully supported however he chose to cope with that. She just wasn’t sure her present reserves of patience were enough to deal with Clint in the full-on bitchtastic mode into which she knew he’d flung himself.

It's not so much that she's fallen for Laura... but that she's all the things that Natasha has only ever pretended to be, things she doesn't want for herself at the end of the day (she has chosen her life and it is not that) but there's part of life she wants to hold touch with, to experience, to know about in more than theory. In a way, it's what drew her to Clint - Clint who is in his own way just as dangerous and dedicated and as much removed from the lives they work to protect as she is, but who at the same time is blessedly, boringly normal - dive bars and classic rock and jeans and beer up on the roof at two am because why the hell not?

Maybe it's not so much that thinks Clint needs something else to be happy (because she knows good and well he's okay with his life as it is, for the most part) maybe it's that she wants to try to cultivate a certain type of happiness for him, and not just because she thinks she knows what's best for him, but because it's something that she wants to be near, too.

It's crazy and reckless, what she's been doing, she can see that now, but that doesn't stop the pressure in her chest when she thinks about it all laid out and she knows that he's seeing parts of it, too, all over her face.

It pisses her off sometimes how well he can read her. No one should be able to do that.

"That's not even a workable plan," she mutters, because it's not, of course it's not.

Rec something (fic, vid, art, graphics, meta, anything): It's Marvel related (though not exactly Avengers or C/N): Rachel and Miles X-Plain the X-Men (http://www.rachelandmiles.com/xmen/) is a fabulous, FABULOUS podcast that everyone should be listening to. They get how to look at something they love and adore critically, and celebrate it while still being cognizant and acknowledging/discussing it's problems. They're funny, engaging, brilliant, and kind, and are systematically going through the entirety of X-Men comics cannon from the beginning and both summarizing the stories themselves as well as providing insight into the creative process behind it (things like the comics code authority influences and discussions about art and writing styles of different creative teams) and putting it all in context of the larger themes and story arcs. Even if you've never necessarily been an X-Men fan, it's fascinating, and pop culture/media discussion at it's finest.

What things do you love to see in fics/creative works, what’re a few of your favourite things? Team-as-family (building each other up rather than tearing one another down), exploration of power dynamics (in all connotations and meanings), snark and sass, Steve the Troll, teammates/partners/friends defending and protecting one another, well-crafted AUs and analogs, humor/comedy, hot-under-the-collar and deeply intense UST (and RST), territoriality and defensiveness of others, everyone working together to get rid of a challenge or threat through various sneaky means that highlight their full skill sets and not just smash and bash, good characterization and voices, and snappy and witty dialogue.

Clint stares back.

“Natasha!” he shouts, because when weird shit happens yelling for his partner often clears things up pretty quickly, particularly when body parts are involved.

“Hill has informed me that it is inappropriate for me to enter the men’s changing rooms and showers,” Natasha replies from the outside the locker-room door. “Hurry up. I want noodles.”

What things do you love to see in fics/creative works, what’re a few of your favourite things? Marvelous Ladies, becoming a team-family, slow build towards relationships, trust, banter/fun dialogue, new perspectivies on things or twists that I hadn't considered before
If someone were to win the lottery and we had a community con (in Budapest, of course), suggest a panel, activity, event etc. you would like there to be: bar night, where we take over the con bar and we shall call it THIS BAR ;D
Any other fandoms: I'm not really writing in other fandoms at the moment, but I always love books and in shows I'm impatiently waiting for Orphan Black season 3, started watching Veronica Mars, enjoy The Walking Dead, need to watch Daredevil and Agent Carter (and thanks to franztastisch once I have the time I now can!), Blacklist...and always Firefly and Serenity.
The last book you read/film you watched/song you listened to: Last book was Eleanor & Park by Rainbow Rowell, which I read because I enjoyed Fangirl so much, but I found this one a more difficult read, probably because of the content. Last film on the big screen was a Serenity 10th Anniversary screening, on the small screen was Live, Die, Repeat. Last song... I've just been listening to teasers for Florence and the Machine's new album.
What should a new friend know about you/your LJ and/or what are you looking for in an LJ friend? I take forever to finish writing things, post on be_compromised more than I do on my own journal, and like to chat about books, cons, people's interests... I like LJ friends who rec stuff, post creative things, chat back ;)

MCU, comics, or all the things?
All the things... just not always mixed together. And with a heavy dose of my own head!canon.

How many times have you seen Age of Ultron (so far)?
Once. Still trying to decide whether or not I liked it... and I saw it opening weekend.

Camping out at the farm, by that river in Egypt, in a world of AUs anyway, or another camp all together?
By the river... I suspect it may be an AU, but I didn't get a memo. Then again, as a Nick/Natalie 'shipper (Forever Knight, see below), I think I took up permanent residence there in the 1990s.

In his dream, Clint Barton staggered. Pain pierced his left temple, stabbing and pounding and echoing through his body with each heartbeat. His stomach roiled and his eyes burned, the pain literally blinding him as his mind and body struggled to deal with the intensity.

It's been a while since I've played in the sandbox, as real life has put a crimp on any attempts. I've been friends with allisnow for far too many years now, and know her kung fu is pretty awesome, so I'll definitely rec her stuff, regardless of fandom. Same for tielan, and I'm getting to know that alphaflyer writes some good stuff, too. =D

"Miss Fisher's Murder Mysteries" -- my other current obsession. Strong, female lead; smoking hot UST; and the male lead isn't all that bad to look at, either. And, strangely enough, I really only find him attractive when he's in his period duds. Go fig.

The Thin Man -- a husband and wife that actually love each other and trade snark like nobody's business. Oh, and they solve a murder mystery along the way, too, with their cute wire-haired terrier.

Writing workshop -- focusing on the realities of hand-to-hand defense, using firearms, and how to write said realities; maybe a some time on investigative procedure.

Costuming/prop workshop -- how to modify a pattern to make all those wonderful bodysuits and how to work with really odd, unwieldy materials that they keep making the @#$% costumes out of.

My LJ is where I vent, and sometimes is fairly personal. As a result, sometimes I lock things down mostly to the folks I know in real life.

About me: I'm a politics junkie who loves to read, write, sew, and go to pilates class. I try to be tolerant of other people's opinions, and expect the same in return. I'm not working at the moment, so my open posts are going to be about fic, fandom, costuming/sewing, and probably any dwama related to getting prepped for DragonCon, 'cause that's the BIG elephant squatting on my calendar every year. I'm also a huge baseball fan and my team (Braves) is doing their best Jekyll/Hyde thing this year, so that might get a little iffy somewhere along the way, too.

Stargate! Are you for SG-1, Atlantis, Universe, or some combination of the three? My heart was set years ago on SG-1 and Atlantis.
