ATTF: New Mod & Friending Meme
The hawk-eyed among you may have noticed that we've added [livejournal.com profile] findthesea to all the modly contact information on the comm. We've now increased the mod team to five people to keep up with you lovely lot! So warm, best bar welcome to [livejournal.com profile] findthesea!

We're also seeing new faces and returning faces in the bar following Age of Ultron, so welcome and welcome back!

And this all seems like a good time for a getting-to-know you, friending style, All The Things Friday. So copy and paste the following into a comment, grab yourself a drink from the bar, and let’s have some fun!

Things to remember:
1) Always label NSFW (Not Safe For Work) stuff in the title and post under a cut.
2) Fic and artwork needs to have a rating and warnings (or you can say that you’ve chosen not to use warnings).
3) For people with annoying internet connections, say in the title if a comment is graphic/images/gif-heavy and post picspams under a cut.
4) Have a damn good time! (Because if that’s not happening then this post has clearly failed.)

If you haven’t already read the rules and our post-AOU message please do :)
And if you have any ideas for an ATTF post or would like to host a ATTF the latest sign up post is here!

Soooo I will throw this in there for reasons! Because yay, friending post and yay, mod times! Seriously so happy to be a larger part of the BEST BAR EVER. <3 <3 I'm giving you all virtual hugs!

MCU, comics, or all the things? ALL THE THINGS. I got into fandom and Clint/Nat because of the MCU, but I love the comics, and I love the fact that there are differences between the two. Comics!Clint, specifically Fraction's Hawkguy, is actually more of a favorite sometimes than MCU!Clint. But really, I love both comics and the MCU for their takes on different characters and different relationships.
How many times have you seen Age of Ultron (so far)? 4...if we're talking LEGAL theater viewings, that is. ;)
Camping out at the farm, by that river in Egypt, in a world of AUs anyway, or another camp all together? At the farm, I suppose. But really, I'm not picky about this. I did love the Laura reveal, and I really love the idea of Clint/Laura, and how their relationship fits in with Nat. And also, I love my "let's screw until the cows come home, romantically involved" assassins more than anything, so I'm happy to live in a world of AUs. I guess the long and short of it is that I love Clint and Nat as the bestest of best friends but I also love them romantically, obviously, and can go with whatever my brain wants at any given time. :)
Give us 3 sentences or a teaser of something creative, fic or otherwise, that you’re working on: From an AoU fic I'm working on: “Pretty depressing to think that Ultron wants all of this gone,” Clint says as they make their way down the steps and across the grass, leaving the house in the distance. When Natasha turns, she can see the outline of the sloping roof against the sky, a handful of lights burning holes in otherwise dark windows. She counts four or five, tries to mentally figure out who they belong to, aside from the one she knows is coming from Lila’s room.
Rec something (fic, vid, art, graphics, meta, anything): I haven't quite finished reading it yet, but this Clint/Nat fic (http://archiveofourown.org/works/4033372) that I just found is really hitting all the spots.
What things do you love to see in fics/creative works, what’re a few of your favourite things? ANGST. ladies being awesome. Did I mention angst? Hurt/comfort and emotional hurt/comfort. Angst. Smut. Long, involved character developments and first meetings.
If someone were to win the lottery and we had a community con (in Budapest, of course), suggest a panel, activity, event etc. you would like there to be: Fic writing panel. Which, really, wouldn't be a panel as much as it would be a bunch of us sitting in a circle and going around and talking about our fic writing ideas and the things we get stuck on, or how we think of stories.
Any other fandoms: Marvel is my big main fandom that I'm into. Aside from Clint/Nat, I'm big into the comics fandom, especially Clint/Kate and Clint/Bobbi (which, uh, is not much of a fandom but oh well.) Also LOST, AoS/Daredevil.
The last book you read/film you watched/song you listened to:
Movie: Mad Max
Song: Renner's Happy/Sad/Confused podcast (it counts...it's what I listened to on my walk to work today.)
Book: uh...Black Widow Forever Red :)
What should a new friend know about you/your LJ and/or what are you looking for in an LJ friend? I'm trying to be more consistent about updating. Also, since I keep my professional life pretty private thanks to being involved heavily in fandom, I usually use the locked space to bitch/talk about my job since I don't get to do that anywhere else on social media. Otherwise, the rest is fic and rambling and fannish stuff.
Anything extra to add? If you want to friend me on other mediums (because I absolutely don't make it easy to find myself ANYWHERE, I know, I'm awesome) here's a link to my twitter (http://www.twitter.com/andibeth82) and also my tumblr (http://isjustprogress.tumblr.com), both of which I'm pretty active on.

Oooooh I love your tumblr!!! I didn't know it was yours!! You always have great commentary.

Aww thank you! I apologize for making my fandom self easy to find. I wasn't really thinking when I created my Tumblr and I try to spread out my fannish aliases a bit. (PS - if you follow me and I haven't added you back, let me know! Sometimes I don't know who people are unless I recognize their names.)

That totally makes sense. And you don't want to follow me. I have no idea what I'm doing or how tumblr works and I think I have reblogged like 4 things but am super nervous b/c I don't know how to tag anything. I also don't know how to respond to people. I HAVE figured out how to "heart" things, so I can at least do that much. I wonder if there is a tumblr for dummies book...

Ahaha it's okay! I swear it took me like, a year to get the "hang" of Tumblr. My first few entries were dreadfully embarrassing. <3

Good lord, how are we not already friends, fellow mod???
[identity profile] findthesea.livejournal.com on May 30th, 2015 04:04 am (UTC)
I don't know!! But I am absolutely correcting that right now because we should have been friends a LONG time ago. <3
[identity profile] sugar-fey.livejournal.com on May 29th, 2015 10:59 pm (UTC)
Also, YOU'VE READ 'FOREVER RED'????? Is it already out??? TELL ME EVERYTHING!
[identity profile] findthesea.livejournal.com on May 30th, 2015 04:03 am (UTC)
It is...KIND OF OUT??? It won't officially be out until October. I read it awhile ago because job stuff, and at this week's NYC's BookCon, the publishing group released a full uncorrected proof of the book (like what we would get at work, that publishers send for review before they publish it for the mass market.) I can tell you anything and everything though, if you really want. :) It's SO SO SO SO good.

I wanna know too!!

Shiny! I recognised the author and was tempted. Hearing that it's good; hell yes, book please :D
[identity profile] findthesea.livejournal.com on June 1st, 2015 09:59 pm (UTC)
Honestly, I will tell you that the best part of the book is that it's NATASHA. There's a few things you'll recognize like her relationship with Coulson and some other comic/MCU stuff but for the most part it's a really original story that focuses on Natasha and a friendship with a young girl that really defines her past, and makes her think about a lot of things that we've always wanted to see that don't get focused on. So in other words, really not a lot of emphasis on relationships with ANYONE if you're looking for like, rabid Clint/Nat stuff (or are worried about Nat and other people.) Margaret does a wonderful job at really weaving a story that she knows fans will love, and I trust her and back her 100%. I mean, I know this is YA and I am far from YA but I've read it over and over again because I'm that in love with it.

That sounds up my street :D I was hoping, since it was YA, that it would be a Natasha self-discovery and coming into her own type novel. Added to wish list!

oooohhh .... totally there for the fic writing panel in Budapest! <3

Also, do you have a link for the "happy/sad/confused" Renner podcast? It sounds great!

I don't have a direct link but you can download it (for free!) off of Josh Horowitz's Happy Sad Confused podcast channel on iTunes :)
