Just when I thought I was out (of prompts), they PULL ME BACK IN!!!!!

In the car this morning, I suddenly had Elvis' 'Heartbreak Hotel' running through my head. Then I remembered my favorited YouTube clip of Jeremy Renner on a talk show somewhere singing 'new york state of mind'.

Then I had an auditory hallucination of Renner singing 'Heartbreak hotel' and my ovaries nearly asploded spontaneously.

(now that Renner's part of the Whedon talent pool… if Joss ever gets around to a sequel to 'Dr Horrible', what do you think would be the chances of Renner agreeing to appear? Oh, how about as a hard-boiled PI trying to track down Penny Lesse's killer, and finding out the truth instead?)

Pre-AvengersL: Clint and Natasha are on a mission, dressed in black tie and dancing in a ballroom/garden somewhere. Clint gets bored with the generic classical/jazz music playing, and starts quietly singing Elvis in her ear instead.

Bonus points for Coulson listening in on the comms and making a request.

Clint loves singing in the shower, when they're not on a mission. Nat can always tell what kind of mood he's in by what he sings.

Bonus if there's a certain artist he sings only when he's 'in the mood' and she knows he'll always make a move on her as soon as he gets out.

Pre-Avengers: Natasha, Clint and Coulson have to do a mission in the field as a team

Yeah, I know I could have put them all in the same prompt, but much like someone did earlier (with one of my favorite songs from Breaking Benjamin), I really think each separate prompt could spark a very differen fic.

Someone on the team (Tony? Bruce? Or perhaps Steve, because I am convinced Steve is catching up with all cultural stuff he missed while he was sleeping) thinks Firefly is a sci fi classic that everyone should watch. They do watch it, and they discuss it later. What do they think of the show? The characters? Does Clint start using the phrase "special hell"? Whom does Natasha like the best? And so on - I really want to see a fic about this :)

Oooh, I'd be interested, to! I love seeing characters interact with shows and books and so on.

(Not that I'm writing it - I haven't seen Firefly in ages, and way too many other things to write. But I think if I did, my Nat would be unsettled by River, and possibly/probably opt out of watching before too long.)

So from some of the stuff Marvel released we know it was Fury that made the job offer, not Clint. So maybe Natasha never had eyes on the S.H.I.E.L.D agent that tailed her and doesn't know who he is when she meets him? It could be she underestimates him as just another "redshirt" or they meet for the first time when they're both undercover (William Brandt and Natalie Rushman?).

.. but adding on to this idea, I'd love to see a fic where they actually hookup for a one night stand or whatever having absolutely NO IDEA WHO THE OTHER PERSON IS and then the next morning it's like "oh hai, let me introduce you to your new partner..."

This prompt is mostly because, well, Natasha is a smoking hot female, and I can't believe that Clint wouldn't have the occasional "God my woman's gorgeous, want sex NOW!" moment (Natasha as well, natch)

It didn’t take Natasha long to find him. She’d expected more resistance but she asked for his room and the smiling woman at the desk had given her directions. The person standing in the doorway kept her from rushing headlong into the room but that was probably a good thing. As she took a deep, calming breath, she could hear the timbre of his laugh. This was the right room. He wasn’t dying. Still, she can’t make herself turn around and head back to her bed.

“How about we... oh, hi.” The guy in the doorway turned as he felt her presence behind him. She knew they must all know who she was but she couldn’t place any of the men who were suddenly staring at her.

“Is he okay?” she asked, her body ready to bolt back down the hallway at the first sign that she didn’t belong. “You never really said.”
