Can be taken literally (with a game) or innuendo-laden (with smut). Timeline is optional.

Bonus if he has custom-made felt of some kind. Maybe with a subtle hawk and spider motif??? Or the Avengers logo, and Tony gets miffed because he didn't think of it first.

Clint hustles, darts or pool or some game involving accuracy of aim.

At the/a circus/carnival? When he first starts SHIELD? Against the other Avengers? Against random people?

Natasha feels that she should do something about it.

Against Dean and Sam because everything is crossovers and nothing hurts everything hurts.

And because Dean checking Natasha's ass out is a mental image everyone needs, clearly.

Clint and the colour purple: why that's his favourite colour, times he's been teased about it, time's he's worn it etc. Maybe he even read The Color Purple just because of the title.

(And Natasha always seems to be in black, but this one time she wears a purple evening gown for a mission...)

i always thought cos it became like a badge of remembrance for all those times he was beaten as a kid. bowed but never broken (also kind of why his weapon of choice is, well, his weapon of choice. all about tension and release). which is why he's so shaken by the heartwashing from loki, cos beyond violated, it made him feel broken.

Clint thinks that JARVIS is amazing and useful, he loves Tony's robots, and kitchen appliances scolding him in the morning just makes him laugh. Natasha, on the other hand, feels it's all a little too 1984 'big brother' and has enough problems negotiating living with the other people in the Tower, never mind the technology.

On the outside Natasha might come across as cool, controlled, and unflappable. That's okay, she's worked hard to be that way. But on the inside she worries about things just like everyone else, like if Clint is really serious about wanting her, an ex-Russian spy, a women who knocks men down as easy as breathing, who's slept with people for gain? Really, she wonders, why would a man as good as Clint, who's been a solider and fought for things that he believes in, want her?

Clint finds out about this eventually and persuades her that yes, he really does, and all the reasons why.

Oh, my goodness, I love this!!

So this one time at camp...

Kid/Teenage AU: Clint is at a music camp and either Natasha is too, or she's at dance camp or martial arts camp on the other side of the lake.

MOONRISE KINGDOM AU!!! win.

I had a violin teacher who used to teach music and maths at a school before she became a violin teacher only. At that school her department used to keep a book where they wrote in it all the amusing things the kids had said, the daft mistakes and puns and what have you.

There is a book like this at SHIELD. (I would LOVE to read this book.)

Clint is in there plenty of times. He finds out that Natasha is in there once, although he'd have thought that she wouldn't be in there at all. Clint/the team would really like to see what got Natasha put in it. Cue Natasha trying to stop them.

I have a "Wall of Fame" in my classroom where I put up all of the bizarre/crazy/wild things kids say. A few:

Natasha "growing up" between Iron Man 2 and the Avengers. In Iron Man 2 it seems her default reaction is to shut down her emotions, but in the Avengers she uses those emotions to be a better operative. How does Clint react to (or help along) these changes?

Bonus points for Natasha being ferocious in a fight.

Natasha begins to teach Clint to speak Russian by spending a week with him refusing to speak anything else.

Clint retaliates with the language of your choice.

Clint and Natasha as spies and Clint gets Natasha to defect and come over to the side that he's on. Or Natasha works as a code breaker at Bletchley Park and Clint is in the RAF. Or Natasha is in the French Resistence and Clint is stranded in France after Dunkirk. Or anything.

Natasha fell through the cracks a long time ago and is an assassin in London Below. Clint...Clint, having become deaf and fed up of being passed around foster homes, runs away and falls through the cracks OR Cint is a mercenary in London Below hired to take Natasha out OR Clint performs in a London Below travelling circus/carnival. OR... have fun :)

Clint works with or volunteers for a group that is, or is like, Equality Now. He meets Natasha through this, because she's a lawyer working one of the cases or she's gotten caught up in something or whatever, and she's intrigued by this man who advocates women's rights.

Ooooh I could do this.... I could do this over the vacation, but I don't know when I'll be able to post it! (Can I make Clint a social worker? Can this be about custody battle? OMG. Things I could write!)

Whatever it is that you do for a living, put Clint and Natasha in your workplace/job. Either they're undercover or make it an AU.

They do say write what you know and, who knows, it might make you enthusiastic about going into work - for fic research *grins*.

LOL, the prompt we just talked about? I could easily merge it with this one. (And that social worker Clint and lawyer Natasha, they could easily work together in prevention of human trafficking or something equally horrible few years later. And yes, go and wonder about my job now. *G* )

It hadn't been a bad mission. Two weeks, a comfortable persona, everything accomplished if not brilliantly, than more than satisfactorily.

It had also left Natasha unsettled enough that she knew better than to crawl home to her Chicago apartment, which was lovely and cosy, but entirely devoid of other living things. Instead, she was currently curled up on Clint's couch in San Diego, reading a book with her feet resting against his thigh.

He was playing his guitar and singing Country, all old school and- Well, she could tell he was picking the songs with rather more care than he normally did when he was playing for the hell of it. Nothing too dark, nothing too 'shut myself up alone and drink 'cause I'm lonely', and it was that kind of unspoken solicitousness that made him safe.

“Girl, your mem’ry won't ever haunt me / 'Cause I don't love you, and now if you'll buy that, / I got some ocean front property in Arizona. / From my front porch you can see the sea,” he sang with the cheerfulness the song called for. Natasha snorted slightly from her end of the couch.

“I got some ocean front property in Arizona, / If you'll buy that, I'll throw the golden gate in free, / I don't worship the ground you walk on, / I never have and that's a fact,” Clint sang, and then without looking at him, she joined in.

“I won't follow or try to find you / 'Cause I don't love you, and now if you'll buy that, / I got some ocean front property in Arizona, / From my front porch you can see the sea.”

He adjusted the music and his voice to cater for her, and she could feel the smile he was giving her.

“I got some ocean front property in Arizona, If you'll buy that, I'll throw the golden gate in free.”

She let her voice trail off as the song ended, and turned the next page of her book. She knew him well enough that he wouldn't say anything, that he'd move onto the next song and just let her read.

It suited her just as much as the rest of the things he did, and she really would have to find him a tiny golden gate from somewhere. Lego, maybe, just to see that grin on his face again.

The Graveyard Book (Neil Gaiman) type AU in which Clint is raised by a graveyard full of ghosts (and other things) (maybe because he ran away from a foster family and maybe this is where he ended up after his parents died) and Natasha is the girl who wanders in and befriends him one day, only unlike the girl in The Graveyard Book Natasha is not scared off...

I haven't read the book (blasphemy, I know!) but the idea is awesome. Is it werid that I'm getting ideas about this, even though I haven't read this book??

Also, now I want to cast all Avengers into Good Omens. *headdesks*

I haven't seen and I don't know the story of We Bought A Zoo, but I like the idea and Scarlett Johanason's in it and Renner is good with taking Matt Damon's roles ;) so:

Clint is the guy who buys a zoo. Natasha is the zookeeper who makes it work. Hijinks may occur.

An AU in the spirit/style of Kelley Armstrong's Otherworld series (because today I am reading 13, yay!): Natasha is a witch who, rather like Eve Levine, will use any means and type of magic, and what she currently uses it for is assassinations. Clint is a Half Demon, either Acies, Conspicio, or Aspicio (see below), with a talent with a bow. Maybe their story is like that in the Avengers and they both join SHIELD, but in an Avengers world where the supernatural also exists. Maybe Clint is in a Cabel (called SHIELD? Ha) hired to stop Natasha. Maybe Clint is hired to do some work for the Interracial Council, protecting someone that Natasha is hired to kill. Have fun :)

Here's a silly one. Is anyone familiar with Lush (http://www.lush.com/) bathing products? They have most awesome bathing stuff there is. I would like to see a fic where Clint and Natasha try out creative bathing things. Doesn't have to be Lush, as long as you're creative with names, scents and stuff they do in the bath... or after.

... I am imagining Clint being at one of the stories and getting an introductory hand treatment done (do all Lush stores do that?), and Natasha laughing at him.

We'll see whether or not this evolves into a fic. >.>

Post-Red Room, pre-SHIELD, Natasha had a bolthole she always returned to. It was her home, and SHIELD never found it when they hunted her.

One day - for vacation, to lie low after a mission, whichever - she takes Clint to it. It's a sign of trust.

It's also nowhere Clint would have expected.
