When I found out Avengers was a Joss project I actually came up with contenders for who was going to die :S I think my logic went something like: it has to be someone we care about, but there are plans for more Avengers films, so not an actual Avenger. My top three were Darcy, Coulson, and Pepper, although I doubted he'd kill of Pepper this soon after she'd finally hooked up with Tony because of what it would do to him before he's even got on board with the team. But yeah. JOSS.

I picked Coulson to die as well. The moment he pulled out those Cap trading cards he was a goner.

I've been wondering, though: Would Marvel allow him to kill off a main character? They all seem like really profitable properties right now....

I tend to agree. I just wish they'd stop adding all these new characters to the universe. SIX IS PLENTY. I'm hoping Joss will put his foot down on that one.
