I doubt they'll have many from the movies in it, which makes me sad, but I would look forward to seeing where they go with it.

Yeah, I'd be really surprised if they did (especially as all the Avengers peeps are in high demand). But I'm very interested to see what it might look like.

Heck, maybe we can just get a Firefly reunion and call it MCU.... O_o

I'd like to see some other Avengers from the comics in the tv series, since I don't think they'll include any movie characters. Ooooh, like Ms Marvel (now Captain Marvel!), Wasp or Black Panther. Since Hawkeye most likely won't be in this verse, I'd also like to see Mockingbird, since I think she's much more interesting when she's not Somebody's Girlfriend. Oddly enough, that seems to be the case with all female characters...

I'm so glad Joss is writing/directing Avengers 2, since he's responsible for Natasha being so well written. Now don't screw it up, Cap 2.

Not gonna lie, I'm kinda terrified they'll ruin Natasha in Captain America 2. Yeah, Bucky's cool and all, but I really don't want her to be reduced to 'Winter Soldier's (ex)Girlfriend,' or 'Hawkeye's Girlfriend.' And I REALLY don't want a love triangle, it's such a cheap way to create drama.

Not surprised because I was pretty sure Marvel was ready to slay former Fox execs and bathe in the blood of virgins in order to get Joss back on board for TA2. The Marvel series addition to his deal is a good move. Joss loves TV and this is now his universe to play in. It's going to give him plenty of ways to stretch his stories and I think that's amazing. I would LOVE a S.H.E.I.L.D type cop show. Can't you picture them bitching and moaning about having to clean up after The Avengers save the day. Agents having coffee breaks and talking about how they haven't been able to beat Barton or Romanoff's records in the shooting range. Lots of Joss snark and wit. Fun geeky tech. I think it would be awesome and a great way to learn backstories and hints of new things to come. Excite!

Yes! SHIELD on TV! This is exactly where my brain went! Show me the breakroom in the Helicarrier, or a fun MIB-type welcome-to-the-extremely-stealthy-and-high-tech-madness SHIELD orientation montage. Explosions! Suits! Crazy futuristic/alien tech toys! Spying and undercover black ops and Galaga-guy over in the corner! (oop, wait - he already HAS a TV show - hmmmmn...) Much romance and drama involving all of the above!

Besides, TV network executives LOVE shows with initials in their names, right?

I heard that the show'll focus on non-movie members of the team, which is good since there are a lot of awesome characters in the Marvel 'verse and hopefully we'll get some Hawkeye/Widow mentions! :D

I agree with people ahead of me that bring up all the other Avengers that they SHOULD use to fill in the gaps of not having movie people around. I think it could be every bit as cool as a movie. I think we need this in our lives!

I also wonder if it might be a good place to put some of the peeps from all these other movies (ant man? guardians?) that don't need to be all up in Avengers 2 biznass (mucking with the storyline and adding way too many peoples...)

If Whedon is doing the SHIELD TV show, can you imagine how awesome of a job he'll do in the casting? And suddenly when the next Avengers film comes around, we won't think of the agents as just nameless red shirts anymore.

That would make me both hella nervous and super-excited about what that would add to the next film's narrative. (If he does any recycling of actors on the big screen.)

I am BEYOND THRILLED about this, lol. It's like all my Avengers fandom dreams came true at once.

I'm very curious where the show will go. I trust Joss and I'm sure it will be awesome.

I'm relieved that he is doing the movie. I think there are few directors, if any, that can balance all of the elements that need to go into those films. That being said, I share the concern that Joss is going to go messing things up. I will say in his favor that death is not always the end when it comes to Joss. I mean how many times did Buffy die? Also, depending on how the Bourne movie goes, I think he probably knows having Jeremy Renner is an asset. He has credibility as an actor and can obviously keep up with the action. Then there is the worst case scenario that he does kill Hawkeye...there's always fanfiction. I live in a world where Sirius Black exists and nothing can change my mind. The power of denial!

I have come to the conclusion that if Elektra could survive "Daredevil," that Coulson is not dead and no one else would really die. but now I'm going to have this nagging fear in the back of my mind that something bad is going to happen to Clint, and I don't like it. :(

of course, having said that, I am thrilled beyond measure that Joss helming 2, because no one else could or should do it.

wait, I'll actually be able to watch a Joss show live and in person? IS THIS REAL LIFE.
